maybe you are right, he did have one good season in Chitown, with 57 pts. in 56 games.

Not the player I'd want to get unless the price was cheap, as his contract is bloated and he's had so many injury problems. But with all the talk about the Habs being interested in him and I thought I read something about him having some interest in playing here in the past (unless I dreamed this) I do wonder if he would be a plan B or C this summer if Gainey can't lock up one or two of Kovalev/Tanguay/Lang. Just a thought.

he's like Tanguay with more flash, and scoring abilities. we really need someone with grit who can perform in the playoffs under tight checking.

Gaborik would be a better option if we're so bent on getting an oft-injured forward.

I'd take a chance but the price in terms of assets would have to be cheap.

Indeed, but after looking at his stats, i am really not that impressed. I thought he was much more productive than he really is, plenty of injuries might have slowed down his progress though.

Can't believe we would be looking for the same type of players we already have in bunch. Though it fits the bill that the organization want as far as being skilled and speedy....

And the 4th period isn't much better as a source gatherer.

liked Havlat in the playoffs years ago when he was a Sens player

for the right trade if healthy he can be valuable

If the Habs can get him for reasonably cheap then he is worth the risk. When healthy and motivated he can be a dominant player. They would need to move a little bit of salary as well. He is playing on Chicago's 3rd line and would one the Habs top scorers. Surprisingly he is +13 as well...2nd among their forwards. In fact he is +71 for his career.

I agree the Habs need grit for the playoffs. However, Havlat would be a better option than Gaborik because he would be MUCH cheaper. He was also one of the only players that showed up for Ottawa in the playoffs.

We have too many wingers. If Gainey was packaging some for a dman and then traded for Havlat to plug the hole for the playoffs, I wouldn't mind. Right now though it makes no sense.

Havlat's got some jam in him, despite his injuried past. I wouldn't be against getting him, but I agree that he's much of what we already have, perhaps with a better knack for the net.

Gaborik, now Havlat... are we going to be linked to every walking wound waiting to happen out there? If we're going to go for someone, make it someone with grit and skills, not injury-prone players!

We've been linked to Havlat for the past 2 years. This one isn't new Asterix, it's a re-cycled rumour.

He spends his summers here and if I'm not mistaken, says that it's his favorite city in North America. I can see him wanting to play here, but he's way too injury prone...

Too bad cuz when he's 100% he's one of the game's best. I remember his last playoffs with Ottawa, he was ****ing dominant.
