He's had a rough start offensively, but it has more to do with our stalling PP than anything. He's been picking it up in the last 2-3 weeks.

EDIT: And what kind of season is Horton having? Yeah, I thought so...

For Horton: A 1st, a 3rd, and 3rd line player, and a prospect.

For Murphy: A bag of pucks.

Yeah, he's only 23 and already has over 100 career goals. Only a handful of other guys in the league can say that.

If he had better linemates (or a new location), he'd be a super star.

I'd give up Dubinsky, Fritsche and a 2nd round pick for Horton. I like Dubinsky but Horton is a big talent. I guarantee Fritsche will go to a team and put up 20-20 with real ice time in a few years. He almost did it at 21 on the crappy Jackets. Might take more.

Maybe Dubinsky, Fritsche and Potter.

Agreed with much of this. Effort level red flags notwithstanding, and they aren't minor, I'd love him on Washington. He has size and, occasionally, some snarl when the fancy strikes him.

In DC, he'd be the Caps' top-line RW with Ovechkin and Backstrom. You'd get a good 35 goals annually, and he's already signed to a long-term $4M deal. I'd give up some good assets, roster players and futures, for Horton.

Actually that's an insulting offer. Bieksa is a 4th defenseman type. Grabner is a prospect with work ethic issues and the 1st would be mid to late. That for a guy who on a real team with a solid supporting cast would be 35-35 in his sleep. That and he's a power foward.

Wow, trade the teams #1 defenseman? Trying to go on the win never plan?

It would be picks and prospects from the Canucks and if that isn't good enough it would be nothing.

Grabner + White + Ellington/2nd.

or

Raymond + 1st + Ellington/2nd.

whatever deal would get accepted, it's going to have to include a young, proven roster player. ellington, grabner and a 1st won't do. bieksa is young, has value, and can actually be traded.

also, any deal that got accepted, will likely include a prospect and a 1st round pick.

i've been drooling over the thought of a young, proven power forward in vancouver since the '02-'03 Bertuzzi. horton is exactly what vancouver needs.

I doubt it. He doesn't really put in the effort to ever become a superstar. Linemates only go so far.
