1-2-09 BJ's at Avs 7 PM MT

Happy New Year to everyone.

Budaj in goal for the Avs
Mason (yikes) in for the BJ's

Let's hope the Avs find some inspiration after that piece of dung game they played on Wednesday night

I don't know. If this game were in Columbus, I'd be worried. However, I just can't see the Jackets coming into Denver and winning for a second straight time. Just won't happen.

EDIT: What team ended Roberto Luongo's shutout streak this season? (Although, it was Paul Stastny who scored that goal)

I hope we score in the first 5 minutes so we don't have to hear about Steve Mason all game long.

For good or for bad (boring), the Jackets have finally started playing "Hitchcock hockey" The whole team has been playing well defensively the past few games.

The only thing worse to watch is the Devils or Wild.

Unless it is your team playing that style and winning.

Who are your injuries for this game? Just wondering.

Yes but we had a team! I feel like this team has no spinal cord, nothing impressive down the line. Besides, the Avs own Luongo , Mason I am not sure if the Avs played him before or not so he is still relatively unknown.

Eh, don't worry. Its Altitude, I am sure they'll talk about Clark/Arny more for the rest of the game.

Hard to believe after last season Pascal Leclaire is the "back up". I don't know what happen to the kid, either a bad year or he's still good except Mason is just better.

I think it is pretty obvious that Mason and Leclaire are both a byproduct of Hitchcock's system in Columbus. I never thought Leclaire was that good of a goalie. Mason, on the other hand, is very good. He is getting lots of support from the team though.

Assuming Denver beats Holy Cross tonight and BU manages to beat RPI it will set up a great game tomorrow. Too bad BU is missing Shattenkirk and Wilson.

I'm going to go ahead and predict an Arnason hattrick.

It's so improbable that it's bound to happen.

DU will be without Bozak, so there are losses on both sides.

In the 8 games (7 L, 1 OTL or shootout - don't remember) that Steve Mason has lost, the Jackets scored a total of 9 goals. The outcome of this game depends significantly more on whether the CBJ can score any goals rather than prevent them. They've been doing fine preventing them.

Mason is very calm and collected in the net. He is also huge 6'4" and catches with the "wrong" hand.

Leclaire got injured earlier in the season, they called up Mason and he basically stole the job from Leclaire. When Pazzy has played, he has not looked good.

Oh, Arnason still sucks but Clark has played well (or not bad? however you wish to see it) the last two games. We give our props to the deserving. It's not like we WANT to see our players do badly.......for the most part.
