Maybe he is saving his energy for the all-star game

We all agreed that 80% of what he did last year with all the younger players getting better made us a strong contender. The younger guys are soiling the bed right now so Kovy takes the blame?

Also, without Kovy we don't get past Boston in round one. Period. How people make the statement that he disappeared in the playoffs because we didn't sweep Boston is beyond me. And like Kovy said: the goalie beat us when they lost to Philly.

This board blows when we lose.
No kidding. Its when we win and when we lose.

I don't keep tabs on Bruin injuries but the Habs are quite depleted and their play is naturally affected by the drop in top line talent. I don't see the injury situation as an excuse for their play. It's more of a consequence to me.

Ya sorry guys, you're attacking the wrong player. I'm thinking it has to be the injuries. I mean were missing three of our top five players, not to mention number one goalie from the east.....

Sorry last nights game was not kovalev's problem. It's the line. Kovalev actually played well. Yes he had his usual penalty, but what the hell, Komi took a stupid penalty too.

Both pleks and ak46 are playing VERY poorly. They are not producing, at all

What deadwood?

And don't you think that this franchise endured enough hardships in the past 10 years that tanking would be a viable solution at this point?

Give me a break.

Now I remember why I left this board in the first place: crap like this.

I'm assuming by that you mean who is left in Hamilton that could (at some point) make a push to join the Habs, would that be correct?

Up front, Maxwell has just rejoined the Dogs, didn't have the best game last night but scored a key goal. Stewart is doing his job as well, working hard, some good hits, good fights and adding a little offense. There is Ryan White who is having a good rookie year and played a heck of a game last night, but he is some time away from the NHL IMO. Those are the best bets for being regular NHLers one day. There are young longshots like Desharnais, Russell, Trotter and Wyman and veterans in Lehoux and Glumac too.

On D, O'Byrne played a fairly steady game in his return to the Dogs last night and from the sounds of it, he won't be there long as it is only a conditioning stint for him. Now Weber is in Montreal, Carle is key youngster on D but needs more time to round his game out and become a more consistent player. Then there are the big guys with some decent experience (not all of them ours) in Jancevski, Henry, Anderson and Belle who each have some strengths but might never be NHL regulars if they do make it at some point.

So ask WHY...WHY...did all the Hab fans vote for Kovalev in the Allstar game.....Thats brutal.....

4 Habs in the Starting lineup...No Bruins???? WTH who's leading the conference......How can Komasarek be considered over Chara or Wideman...Man what a crime!!! I could say the same for the Hawks........

Unbelievable the Allstar game is a joke!!! Not that it hasn't been for a while now....

Fans should not be able to vote period!!! Simply too biased.............. Both Hawks and Hab fans prooved it and the NHL should eliminate the vote...Fans cannot be impartial ..............

And of course the game ignited the usual lynch Carbo, BG is a dolt, team is gutless, Kovy hater crap. So, everything pretty much as expected. Looking forward to Sunday.

Halak shouldn't be rusty. He played a stretch of consecurtive games while Price was out recently. Clemmensen makes Halak look sick.

Pretty simple actually...be Fair and Vote for the player who deserves the Allstar spot base on his performance....Not what color Jersey he wears........

But thats not the premise behind the Allstar Game..............

The Allstar game is suppose to put the NHL's best players in a game to show off thier skill......

Having someone's favorite player ( be it who it may) is not what the Allstar game is about....An Allstar spot should be earned, it's that simple.

I don't watch the Allstar game anymore, because it's become a joke and Fan voting is PARTIALLY responsible for it.........I can see you giving ONE vote for your favorite Player....but if he does not deserve the honor based on his performance...than as a fan I could care less if my favorite player was out there or not..................

Wrong - if they wanted the best players you don't leave it to fan voting.

Well................if...............you.......... ....take................away...........the........ ...ability....................to.................v ote.................in.................players.... .............from..............the................ .fans.................aren't..............you..... .........alienating the fanbase?

And despite the fact that you think that the ASG is all about who deserves it or not, its really about what the fans want.

How would you feel if say Tie Domi made an Allstar game( when he played...he was a popular player in both T.O and NY........Would that make sense???

And who exactly would watch that game???

I belive that the NHL gives fans too much credit...You should vote for your favorite players if you think they deserve it......but only then....

And when you say what the Fans want.....I'm a fan, I want to see a hockey game full of talent...............

This kinda of nonsense didn't happen 20 years ago....The players who were voted on the Team were usually the best or atleast amoung the Best.................

Doesn't the NHL want ALL fans too be happy not just Montreal??? or Chicago???

In essence you alienate the fan base simply by allowing SOME of the fave's who are not amoung the best to be voted in because your allowing the Cities who have a rich hockey history dominate the Teams...........

Maybe I should have said Halak had an off-night. He's a pretty decent goalie imo. I don't know much about Clemmensen but the Habs made his life a little easier by shooting at him on a number of occasions.

That's why they let people vote for starters and more "impartial" people get to add who they think deserve it most... What's so hard to understand in that system? It's not like we will see 60 minutes of habs/hawks
