Here's what PDeB had to say about the subject on Friday afternoon:

''We've had a conversation and I think he understands where we're at. With this group, it's about accountability. I don't expect guys to enjoy getting pulled or sitting out. But that's the way it is and that's the way it has to be. I would expect they would respond in the right way and come back and work harder, get the job done or find a way to get the job done.

''In the first half of the year, they responded in the right way. I think from an energy point of view, we responded in the right way even if we didn't necessarily win that game.

''I'm responsible to 20 guys in the dressing room, not just to the goaltenders and making them feel good. If I feel either a) they're not on, or b) we can make the switch and give us a shot of energy and a chance to win that game, we're going to do that. That's the responsibility the coaches have to everyone in that room.''
Sun-Sentinel: Who's No. 1? For Panthers goalies, nobody
Miami Herald: Florida Panthers left wing David Booth now a fan favorite
George Richards' Blog, Your Source For Reliable, Early Panthers Info!

Red Hot Cat Of The Night Stephen Weiss, with 5 points in his last 6 games, leads the team in points, assists, and plus/minus.

Primary Target
Marc-Andre Fleury, don't let the geeky glasses fool you, Marc is a formidable goalie. Sure he gets overshadowed by stars on his own team like Crosby and Malkin, but he is one of the better, overlooked goalies in the NHL. As seen here, he won't pass up a chance to do autograph sessions for his fans, or get in line for the latest Harry Potter book. Ok so he looks like a geek, sue me.

LET'S GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!

After the worst possible outcomes over the last few days (Florida continued to lose, USA lost twice, Detroit won, I overslept and missed a pickup game...), I'm ready to wake up from this nightmare.

I feel bad about this one,and I'm an "optimistic" Panthers fan on these boards (which is not saying much).

I think we just might get this one as a teaser to all the optimists.

Pittsburgh points leader = 60 points.
Florida points leader = 21 points.

Story of Florida's last three games: goalies/defense struggling.

Why would anyone feel bad about tonight's game?

Anyone know why Frolik hasn't played on the same line with Horton? I just don't get it.

Since we last had Bure we really haven't had that very important elite scorer. It also comes as no surprise that we haven't made the playoffs since then. Though I highly doubt we'll be able to sign an elite scorer I would throw Bouw's money + Zedniks at Hossa or Zetterberg. Horton would benefit greatly as would our second line since first pairing d would be iced against our elite scorer. Should help to increase overall offense. Salary wise I think we could have close to a league minimum fourth line. The often overlooked part of drafting well is the salary cap space afforded because of entry level contracts. If we lose Bouw, which I think we do, we need to go after an elite forward.

I thought the consensus was that he should replace Horton...

It looks like Tyler Kennedy is going to play for Pittsburgh. Phillippe Boucher and Mark Eaton look to be the defensive scratches.

Could you guys help me out by giving me a projected line-up? I did the GDT over on the Pens forum but just used your line-up from your last game.

Thanks.

An eternal optimist, I am. These early games mess up your day's schedule, don't they?

Horton with a true play maker would be a lock for 30+goals and 40+assists. I wouldn't want to trade him. He has a great ability to finish just needs a line mate who can help him out.

if anyone wants to watch the game and doesn't have fsn florida, or center ice... go to nhl.com. They are showing games for free today/tonight! works perfectly for me since i need to be discharged from the hospital and the staff here was kind enough to bring in a lap top. I don't know why, but im optimistic today. 3-2 Panthers.

I know. I'm a big fan of Horton. Brings a physical MW presence that we're missing without Malone.

Staal, salary dump, pick for Horton?

Although trading Staal would hurt.

Done, imo. I'd be happy to take Fedotenko, but only if you take Zednik.

Feds is starting to work well with Malkin. Been our best winger for the last 2 weeks.
