Ba Bye 1st place

and so it goes at long last the Rangers are no longer atop the division.... amazed it took this long with all the blown games and inconsistent play.

I see this as a good thing. A wake up call. This team needs to understand they are a borderline playoff team the way they have been playing.

If this happened I wouldn't care if we fell to 10th place.

It was only a matter of time. Soon the Devils will pass us most likely.

don't matter what the standings say in January, only matters what they say in April

Flyers & Devils can only be 2 points points ahead of us with the same amount of games played. It's not that huge of a deal.

True, Im just looking for some more inspired hockey from our fave team. Everytime someone questions the Rangers about ****** play they backtrack to the standings. Time to man up.

We've only played Philly once so far, and we play them a lot down the stretch. Those are gonna be some must-win games.

Big deal. No one thought we were a first place team before the season, and few if any thought we were a first place team even after our hot start.

We knew this was going to happen eventually, so what's the big deal? There's still a lot of hockey left to be played.

We have no one to blame but Sather for signing over hyped free agents, Tom Renney for mis-managing the player, & last but not least the Players themselves.

So, in other words everyone other than the equipment manager?

To be honest I'm more surprised Pittsburgh is so bad. They're now 8th in the East, and if they lose today (FLA leads 1-0) and Buffalo wins (BUF leads 2-0) they'll fall to 9th and be only 3 points out of 10th.

It sure made me mad to see us lose 1st place as a fan. Hopefully the players feel the same.

Imagine if the Rangers had spent the entire season without their best defenseman, and much of the season without one of their other top 3 defensemen (so I guess that would be Staal and Girardi or Mara) as well as having Lundqvist miss significant time.

Fleury has missed a lot of time, Whitney only recently started playing for the first time this season and Gonchar has been out all season long.

Other than Scott Gomez missing 5 games, we've had virtually no injury problems this season. Let's see how we're doing when the injury bug hits us as hard as it hit the Ice Chickens. Hopefully, we won't have to worry about that.

What bugs me about it is Drury and Gomez when questioned after ****** games point to the standings. They are not that dumb.

This team has BLOWN games they should have put away

This team has not shown up for games against teams they should OWN

Not having the talent to win games is one thing. Not having the discipline to play 60 minutes is another thing.

You think mailing it in against the ****** Islanders in November won't come back to bite them in the ass? Tell that to the Jets

True, it will be refreshing to no longer have to hear "We're in first place" from the players in an attempt to deflect questions about poor play.
