Dustin Brown is really annoying me

I swear he single handedly blows at least one scoring chance a game by his greediness. Has there ever been a player that shoots so much have so little points per year? He has by far the most shots in the NHL along with one of the worst shooting percentage.

The jury is out now. Every time he has the puck the opponent plays the body and he coughs up the puck. Every time you'll notice that they will attempt to put him on his ass. They don't play the other Kings like that. If I was on his line I would be pissed at the fact that he NEVER passes to the open man.

I've disliked this forever but it has really started annoying me over the last 12 games where they started playing him different without an adjustment. I love Dustin for his leadership and hits but this has got to stop. Other announcers are almost making fun of him when I watch center ice. It's embarrassing.

I have to disagree here. If anything, his playmaking has been the aspect of his game that has most improved this year

Interesting point.. have not noticed it myself.. will watch if you are on to something.

But otherwise Brown has been very good IMO.

You will not get much love for what you're saying but still interesting point.

Have you seen any of those moves work in the last 12 games? Nope, because he's being put on his ass.

That's all I want. Just watch it when he gets the puck them immediately take the body no matter where he is on the ice. Brown is one of the most inspirational players but it's just something that has been irking me.

Well if no one else is taking risks with the puck and only Brown is, what do you expect?

that's how you generate offense, not by dumping the puck in or passing around like our powerplay loves to do

That little toe drag move he has has worked one too many times for him. Now he tries it everytime he enters the zone.

They don't work because nobody is jumping into the play from behind.

WOW!!! Dude has one below average game and you start off on him.

Coming into tonite he had 9 points in 9 games... I don't know what you expect from the guy.

That might be true some of the time and i do love Brown, but I think tonight would be an example of trying to do too much on his own at times. He was coming in with Kopitar and O'Sullivan on a 3 on 2 and instead of passing it to one of the other guys or using the boards, he tried to put the puck between his legs, and got it checked right out from under him.

Maybe when he is on his own and there is no where to go, he might go for the fancy move, but when you have other players wide open, i believe it is probably best to keep it simple.

Our top 3 shooters are all below 10% and the one guy scoring doesn't take enough shots.

someone noticed this earlier but ive just noticed now. Whenever we lose its like 3 different threads pop up.

In respect to this thread I have to totally disagree. i think he's been one of our strongest players. Heck TM promoted him up to the top line.

LOL...just about every fan of every team in the NHL would kill to have Brown on their team....

We Kings fans are a fickle, bitc*y bunch.

For every big hit he makes each game, I honestly would rather see a shooting attempt.

Speaking of particulate matter, this is a close-up of the particle explosion when he dusted off the puck on the point blank shootin' blanks shot!!!

You'll notice the striations of the puck on the lower portion of the picture...

Brown's a bust. Trade him for a veteran forward that likes the California lifestyle.

I have to say, I agree with no name. Brown is a real puck hog who shoots regardless of where he is in the offensive zone. I can't remember the last time he actually passed the puck on an odd-man rush.

I don't have a problem with Browns energy or hits. I DO have a problem with him constantly trying to pick the corners on every single shot attempt, especially on a rush down the ice. It's either all or nothing on shots like that and with Brown, it is nothing nine times out of ten. So now the puck goes ringing around the boards the other way and you have two or three forwards caught deep in the offencive zone.
Brown is one of my favourite players. I think he is a great leader. I'm just frustrated, I guess.

Wow, really?

A loss and people are going to start questioning the captain? Jesus there are a lot of short-sighted Kings fans.

I'm no more happy with last nights results than any of you are, but come on....the defense is vastly improved and Quick has yet to falter this year. It's a work in progress. Albeit a little more frustrating because the playoffs don't seem as out of reach as originally expected.

And please spare me the "...we've been patient for 40 years" crap. That one's getting old too. I think anyone with an eye for hockey can see we're on the cusp of having possibly the best Kings team ever put on ice.
