That was barely even a fight... and Crosby said that McLean said yes to the fight... so McLean probably didn't take him seriously... and i believe this, because Mclean dropped his gloves pretty fast when he felt Crosby grab him...

Not even close to suspension worthy...

and mclean said he didnt understand what he said. if he knew it was coming he probably would have dropped his gloves a bit faster. thats not how you fight off a draw anyway. especially as a center, you throw your gloves down, roll your sleeves up and prepare, not just ****in jump on him before the puck hits the ice. no excuse

Jesus Christ, HF boards would have Sid suspended for being born if people here had their way. Get a life.

There is no reason for suspension here.

Ditto! That was a cheap shot, more so than this.
With this, meh with the one in Atl that could have been worse.
If he didn't get suspended for that he won't get suspended for this, even though I voted yes.

You do know that when you fight someone you don't jump out on them when their head is down.
Hell if they wanted to fight, fine let them. But Crosby just jumping at him when his head was down was low.

And no! I will NOT Leave Sidney Alone

The weiner punching was more worth a suspension than this one - he received enough in-game.

McLean had his head down, it's his own damn fault, right?

both players had their gloves off dude,..

funny how the pathetic haters are just voting yes, saying, Maclean wasnt ready. Maclean was ducking for his life when the Jersey went over his head. Btw, BOTH players threw their gloves off. That means they were ready to fight.

McLean was ducking down because he was trying to do his job and win the faceoff. The gloves came off later. after he got spun around a few times. That being said no reason for Crosby to get suspended. It wasnt a suspendable offense.

What difference does precedence make?

Suppose Crosby took one skate off and hacked away at Maclean with it or something. Unprecendented, and therefore unpunishable?

Are you sure that is unprecedented?

I meant there's no precedent for suspending someone for jumping another player, not that the situation itself was unprecedented.

Well in the NHL I would assume it is, yes. Maybe in some Romanian beer league there is a documented case of said event happening, but I haven't heard anything like it.

Whether or not McClean knew, Crosby's 'attack' was still somewhat of a dirty play, although of course less so if he did know, which we will never know .
I said as much on our board in the heat of the moment after the match too.

But while it wasn't pretty, its rather ridiculous for this to be a "suspension?" topic after he got a whopping 19 minutes for his troubles.
