Shame too. Oh well, it's enough for me to know how important he is to this team. I don't think he needs the "honor" of being an all-star.

Anyone think it would be better if the league picked all the players who make the allstar game then from there the fans can vote on which of those should be the starters?

Congrats Carter. He earned it!

I don't know why people get so annoyed with the ASG.

Timonen would have made it if not for Komisarek I thjink. But he would of sat out since he has a broken foot.

Cindy must be very excited. He's probably making all the arrangements for the party.

Knowingly letting montreal rig the online voting hurts the game.

One guy from each team makes sure every teams fans have an interest in watching and an AS jersey to buy. If you are the best player on your team, you deserve to go to the all star game.

Doesn't Malkin only have something like 2 assists in the last 7 games while the Penguins have slipped out of the playoffs? What a coming out party.

I won't be watching this year for the first time.

probably because they are playing away from home alot. He can only get assists from his team's bench in pitts.

Wow. That's sad.

Richards and Gagne are both in the top 20 in the ENTIRE LEAGUE in pts also.

And no way there are 6 d-men ahead of Kimmo in the east.

Komisarek is starting in the all-star game while Timonen watches it on TV, so yeah, I won't watch. The only deserving Canadien is Markov.
Price should be there...starter??... i dunno...maybe Tim Thomas... but you cannot say Price shouldn't be there at all....

And because a roster spot was taken by Mike Komo, i am sure that is why Timmonen AND Mike Green were denied... i would have loved to see EITHER of these 2 guys over Komo

Nothing...but since Komo has taken a spot from someone DESERVING (ie Timmonen) and because every team needs a representative, Richie misses out...

Personally, I would have rather see Carter and Gagne ...simply to see Gagne in fastest skater and see how he does...

I just think it's a joke that they were all stars last year playing exactly as they are now. Pathetic vote rigging has gone against us by putting those canadiens in.

I'll tell ya what...I think I'd really like to see Carter in the fastest skater competition. There may be a bunch of players out there that look and seem like they're faster than Carter...but Carter has that way of making it seem effortless when he's flying out there that it's easy to forget just how fast he actually is.

With the turns having to be made in the corners, perhaps that's not Carter's biggest strength and would hold him back from winning. But I'm not sure there's anyone in the league that I could be convinced could definitely beat Carter in a race if it were just end to end. Once he gets those long strides going, he is insanely fast.

I'm not saying he'd assuredly win the fastest skater comp, but I'd sure be curious to see how he'd fare.

That's a very good point. Those two should definitely be sent on that basis alone. Because...it's not like there are any other factors involved here. Somebody get the NHL on the phone.

They should just make it so that no team can have more than one starter. Then the fan stuffers have to choose.

What about the accuracy competition?? I mean...if they straight up had "Fastest WRIST Shot" I think he would win...but since its slapper, it goes to Chara (maybe Souray)

But I mean...Carter has to have good aim, I mean I know he takes a butt load of shots and misses the net completly sometimes, but he def can pick corners

Yeah, go Carter! Knew he'd make it.

I'm really disappointed for Kimmo. He truly deserves to be there.

Are Crosby and malkin there because their playing like last year too, being close/or the top in points.

Edit: bad examples due to them being the only players the pens fans know about. But People like joe thornton, Chara, Pronger ect
