It's been months since the draft, and most of us have seen all three of these talented centremen play. Who do you think will become the best NHL player, in terms of talent, leadership, and overall value to their team?
Colin Wilson is playing at Boston University, and also made the US IIHF Junior team. Haven't seen him play other than at the World Juniors, but looks like he's creating a lot of scoring chances, just not finishing. His stats at Boston don't reflect that, maybe it is just the nerves and pressure of playing in front of 20 000 fans. I remember seeing him wearing an "A" for the States, not 100% though but he was praised for his leadership at the draft.

Josh Bailey has cracked the Islanders roster, not surprisingly, and has played pretty well thus far. I haven't really seen him play since Isles game don't usually get broadcasted here on the West coast, but his stats say that he's doing pretty well, hasn't scored a goal yet but has been a part of 9. I'm gonna guess he's getting 2nd/3rd line icetime, maybe with a little PP time.

Cody Hodgson had a brief stint with the big club, but returned to Brampton and immediately impacted the team. The Battalion's captain tore up the OHL scoring at a 1.83 PPG pace. From what I've seen at the WJHC, he's not the most talented guy in the world, but plays a very intelligent game and makes very few mistakes. He was on the ice in the late stages of games and PKs, and won some key faceoffs for Canada. He's tied with Tavares for the scoring lead at the World Juniors.
OHL stats: 20G 22A 42P in 23 GP.
WJHC stats: 3G 9A 12P in 4 GP.
Note: WJHC stats may not be completely up to date, but I'm using the IIHF website as the source.
It is a tossup between Wilson and Hodgson. I would choose Hodgson though. His playmaking abilities is amazing, the guy is a pure goal scorer, but since he is a centerman for team Canada, he is more of a play maker. You put him as a winger and he will score 50 goals in the NHL. He can wrist shot, slap shot, snap shot, play powerplay at the points or play from the front end. Example, Markus Naslund, Joe Sakic, Crosby, these guys have good wrist shots, but not a great slap shot. Cody Hodgson can shoot anyway. Kinda like a Jarome Iginla. He can wrist shoot it and slap shoot it. The only downside to Hodgson right now, his skating needs improving. Cody Hodgson is also a fighter. Earlier this season he was suspended for a huge fight were he broke the guys face. Check it out. He has a suspension this season.
Josh Bailey should be in the OHL right now. Hes only up here because Mr. Wang thinks hes better off developing in the NHL.
