If I was a hockey player of his caliber, I'd be flirting with hot chicks too.

i'd be flattered ha ha if Zettergberg hit on my girl in a weird way. I introduced my ex to hockey and she got into it big time...then after we broke up , she started " dating " i'll be nice hahaha some ex Trenton Devils ( ECHL ) and one radio guy hahaha. After that what i said to her what would happen to her and how they were smooth operators did happen. She thought they were just being nice to just be friends ha haha , and she came running back after getting used and played. She thought they were just trying to be nice at first, i told her they had an agenda. I turned her down when she ran back to me and now she's a local pucky bunny.

The entire scientific method is based on doubt, proposing theories based on the evidence and then doing everything you can to disprove and destroy those very theories. Only the strongest remain. Without debate, science is like voting for the Stanley Cup winners instead of letting the teams duke it out.

She's pretty, but she has jacked up teeth, and that is.... ick. Not like hockey jacked up, like trailer park jacked up. I know that sounds awful, but that is the best way to describe it.

I can't bring myself to hockey-divorce him though, so I guess he is still my hockey husband.

Oh, and she said he was really creepy.

Doesn't being an engineer preclude you from being a scientist?

The very term, 'research engineer', does seem like an oxymoron now that I bring it up.

This forum is a like some lost dog you find. You don't know it's name so you just call it 'Rover' or just simply 'Dog'. This forum needs tags or I'm taking it to the pound.

I've been on three of the world's fastest trains, the ICE in Germany, The TGV in France, and a Shinkansen in Japan.

I prefer trains to planes.

I've never been outside the United States.

Okay, I have -- but Toronto doesn't really count. It's practically America anyway.

Agreed.

When I was younger, it took 13 hours to get from Greensboro, NC to Washington, D.C. by train.

It takes half that by car.

Maglev ftw?

No the ideal way to travel is the chicken bus.

As someone from Toronto, may I say, like hell it is!! I am not saying it's perfect or the place I would like to live forever, but aside from New York, I can't think of a more ethnically diverse city than Toronto.

I once delayed an entire train's departure from Union Station in Toronto. The company that hired me to install Audio and Video gear on a Superbowl Party train screwed up causing me to be late with the install. I wrapped up the operation about a minute past the scheduled departure time.

"In twenty years working on trains I've never seen anyone able to actually delay the departure before," said a cabin attendant to me.

I packed up my last suitcase of gear, stepped off the train, the conductor raised the step, blew his whistle, and the train left moments after my feet hit the ground.

To take the conversation in a new direction, I prefer planes to trains as I love flying. While on pop tour this summer I flew out to Edmonton for work, on the plane I realized it was the first flight I had taken in three years where I didn't jump out of the plane with a parachute on my back. It was strange to land with the bird that got me in the sky.

Ultimate transport: Helicopter limousine service with optional skydive/parachute landing.

I am pleased to officially designate this thread of topics that are off,

Datsyuk's Magic Show and Dangling Disco (with MC Rahmani)

so it has been decreed by those who yield the power of the radio button and mouse to vote on this name, as it is good.

I combined, in my own way, the great ideas of Zetsyuk and FissionFire with Houston Red Winger's twist. Thanks to all who voted, we are now on our way to 1000 more posts and another poll from the Democratic Nomenclature Society.

This will be posted in my original poll post above also, so it will be closer to the top. Democracy 1, Fascists 0.

I can't be too upset, it was my second choice

Yay. Work... I was going to shower in between intermissions last night so I could actually do my hair, but that got shot in the foot, so I have wet hair at work. Good thing no one cares!

I always go to work with wet hair, well almost always. But then again I work with kids and they're just happy to see me.

Hmmm... I do not see the incongruency, but then, I am a research engineer, so whaddya expect from me?

I do all kinds of research (real science), but being an engineer, I do research on practical stuff that can actually results in increased profits for my company, and better, safer and cheaper products for you, the consumer. Everybody wins (except my paycheck). Think "practical research."

I could discuss actual research I do, but I seriously doubt that anybody cares, and that this is the place for it.

I have taken two cross country vacations on Amtrak with my family, and found them enjoyable with the right attitude:

1) Do not expect the trains to run on time
2) Do not expect the Amtrak employees to give a dam about you

Follow the two above items, and it can be enjoyable.

PS I am not sure if dam% is allowed, so I removed the n...
