They are true, O'B is down for conditioning only, so he can only be in Hamilton for 2 weeks without aggreeing to stay longer. During the Hamilton pregame, they said that O'B was told he was going down for at least 2 games and that Gainey would be there watching both and a decision would be made after that. He played ok on Friday but imo was much better on Saturday, not sure if they will keep him down there a little longer though as I thought they said the Dogs have a bunch of games coming up so it should help him to play a lot as he saw a lot of ice time but then again you don't want Weber sitting on his ass too long either cause if he gets rusty, I'm sure people around here will blame O'B for that too.

Also, to the OP, it won't be Sergei. He's been playing well for a good stretch now. Heck, he has almost the same number of points as Plekanec
no just the nhl as far as i know but i guarantee someone else can answer that better, i *think* in the case of the ahl it would just be his age that becomes a factor (as in when he hits the required age he'd become a ufa as opposed to how many years played in the league)

If he can play before then, he should. Then he'll be in game shape for boston.

What if he re-aggravates his injury? Saku can play with pain, but I don't want him to come back too early. Better safe than sorry.

The goals will be nice too...

Tanguay and Koivu together were really dominant at times and fun to watch before they started getting the injuries.

Sure wouldn't hurt the PP to have them on there.

- Earliest date of return will be at the end of this week
- true test for the condition of the leg will be team's practices with contact.
Thanks a lot for this, I have been looking for an update.

I was just watching TSN and Koivu took part in today's optional skate. The didn't say anything concrete about his return, but my take from it is he could be back later this week.

We got New York on Tuesday, Toronto on Wednesday and Washington on Saturday.

I'd say he is back in on Saturday. I'm sure his ankle could contain a slapfest from Semin.

That would be my guess LR. The segment was only about 30 seconds and didn't contain very much information.

lol...I just saw a replay of Semin's fight.

Umm, no.

Pacioretty will be eligible for free agency at 7 accrued seasons or 27 years of age, whichever comes first.

Being born late in 1988, he won't be 27 years old yet on June 30 2015, so he would not be eligible for free agency by AGE, and his UFA date would be June 2016. However, if he gets an accrued NHL season this year by playing in 40 or more games, then the UFA date moves up to June 2015.

I have a post in the sticky thread with the salaries and cap hits that shows the year each of the Habs players will become UFA (excluding the method of being stuck in the minors too long).

Koivu can be deceiving. I mean, the "injury" didn't look like anything.

The guy hides pain probably better than any athlete I've ever seen.

He skated alone this morning for 30 minutes before joining the rest of the team, but they say he left shortly after and won't make the trip to New-York.

It also says that Andrei Kostitsyn left the practice after he received a puck to the face.
