What I want to ask you is that, if youve heard any rumors about when and what burkes first move will be. Even if you havent heard any rumors what do you think it will be and when?

Leafs fans should be happy he's been quiet, he's actually assessing the situation right now and he's letting them play for their job. He hasn't made a quick trade that would throw things off. People forget that he and Wilson have mutual respect and are pretty buddy buddy.

This might be the first time ever that Burke is in the right job in the NHL with all of his friends around and might actually do stuff based on their opinions rather than just do stuff that he thinks should be done.

I can see Burke trading a 3rd for Raitis Ivanans or something similar like that. Normally, his very first move is to bring in a designated enforcer followed by a designated agitator.

He's looking for lost picks and more, I doubt he trades one.

He will get plenty of that when he trades the guys off his roster he doesn't like. He's got plenty of assets in which to get picks back on like Antropov. Besides, Burke isn't the type of GM that ever passes up getting a guy he wants because he doesn't have many picks. He's done a good job reacquiring picks on draft day by trading down. I don't think he'd bat an eye dealing a 3rd for an enforcer he wants.

It's supposed to be a deep draft. After trading up for Luke Schenn last year, they may be looking to trade down.

I'm holding out hope he cleans house come Trade Deadline. Hopefully that means we can say goodbye to the following;

Kaberle, Van Ryn, Antropov, Poni, Mayers, Blake(I can dream)..A few of these guys would actually garner some pretty decent returns, notably the first 3 or 4.

On another note, I also hope he signs George Parros in the offseason..(as one of his less talked about signings).

I agree. a 3rd for a enforcer is a good deal. Burke is not afraid to do whatever it takes to get what he wants.

yup, he said it on TSN, there is not much value out there right now but at the deadline there should be plenty of moves and more value.
