I suppose they mean that trading for Kemp allows other, better d-men (those with trade value to fetch something) to be traded while still having enough depth to keep Hamilton going.
But then unless they really know something that most DG in the league doesn't, how do we really know that Kemp will even be able to replace the better d-men that will fetch something? If you trade somebody, as prospect as they are, you need to know that you're capable of replacing them....I just don't see, RIGHT NOW, how Kemp wil be able to do that...We'll give the guy a chance...
I went to the same college with TJ (Mercyhurst in Erie, PA) and watched him while he was there. First off - he is a good dude overall.
From a hockey standpoint he is a slightly smaller, gritty, speedy d-man. I have been pulling for him ever since we graduated. Hopefully he gets his shot with you guys. Like I said - he's a good dude and has some potential as a decent 3rd pairing depth guy
I'm wondering why people think it might be the start for something else? Anybody here thinks that he's so much of an upgrade over other d-men we have? Just wondering how Mr. Kemp should be the keeper while we should start moving bodies around 'cause he's arrived...
Depth move for Hamilton.....I guess St-Denis might not cut it for Lever and he's on hiw way back to Cincy real soon.
Like I was saying.....
Just didn't predict the Wyman's demotion, but seems to me that those acquisitions are in no way related to the Habs as far as getting players but more about Hamilton and Cincy losing some 'cause of the injuries.
Anything major about this guy.
What does Timmins think?
You have to wonder sometimes, when a guy gets away on draft day, if they don't keep an eye out for him, and eventually make a deal for that player? I am sure Timmins doesn't get his man every year at the draft table

The guy is almost 28.
Kemp was never drafted and would not have been eligible when Timmins' joined our organization.

On a side note, he played with the Dogs last night.. and scored!
Could be a domino for us. We are weak on D in Hamilton since Valentenko left, or maybe we are gonna trade a Hamilton D in a package, which is why we needed the extra D in AHL. Thats just my take on it.
So your Eklund as you have the same take?
Anyways, nothing big, not worth the space it takes up lol.
