Sather LOVES Canada

Leetch traded to Toronto
Simon traded to Calgary
Nedved to Edmonton
Kovalev to Montreal

Are Sather contract's Canadian friendly? Hockey day in Canada will become Ex-Rangers day on CBC.

I don't think it's a case of Sather wanting to trade his players to Canadian teams. I think it's a case of Canadian teams wanting his players, especially since so many are impending UFAs.

Yeah, but its more of Canada loves Sather and no one else does.

Barnaby WILL go to ottawa as much as I dont want it.
I see Rucinsky going to SJ
Sather will figure out someone to send to Vancouver.

Last year, was it Barnaby that said he didn't want to play for the Sens? I know this really means nothing right now, but it is bothering me b/c i know that he said last year that he did not want to play in one particular canadian club

Canucks the only current playoff team not to make a deal since that Jagr one. I doubt anything happens.

Maybe Slats in New York is still the same genius that ran the Edmonton Oilers and he's running New York like **** only to benefit Canadian teams (particularly the Oilers). It's the only logical explanation.

Hrm, I wouldn't mind Ruchinsky in Vancouver as long as Sather doesn't bend us over like he did to the Flames in that Simon deal.

The Flames deal wasn't that bad. All 3 of them were really useless to the Flames.

I like Rucinsky to Vancouver..w/ Barnaby.

You mean like the Oilers and the way they tore up any team in their path from the early eighties through the early nineties until they broke up that team? I dunno sounds like a weak explanation to me! The economic plight that the Canadian teams are feeling isn't his fault, I think (if I were a Canadian citizen) I would look at the NHLPA and the Canadian government to pin the blame on before Sather. The fact that he's trading these guys to Canadian teams IMO is because he got the best return on them in trade, and he wants to keep them out of his division.

it could also be that sather is so hated around the league because he is such an arrogant pr!ck that his old buddies from canada are the only guys that will trade with him...besides the connection of being all canadian teams, all the gms of those teams are friends with sather away from hockey

Well, Lowe is an old buddy of his. Clarke possibly. I'm not sure about the Sutters.
He wouldn't exactly be "friends" with JFJ, with whom he just made a deal with, would he?

He's probably not Burke's biggest fan. Nor Lou's.
