Islanders @ Flames - 7:00pm MT - SNET-W & the Fan 960

Prior to the morning skate both Jarome Iginla and Mike Cammalleri were out by themselves working on give and go’s and one timer’s. This would lead me to believe that today’s morning skate will be optional. Watch and see if the try a play were one of them comes out of the corner while the other one back’s away from the oppositions net and receives a one timer.

It is an optional practice, not skating for the Flames with the main group Iginla, Cammalleri, Kiprusoff, Regehr, Bertuzzi, and Mike Keenan. Mike Rogers made a keen observation this morning; this was the first time that Bertuzzi didn’t take a morning skate optional or otherwise. His back was acting up over the weekend which is why Lundmark was summoned on stand by on Sunday.

The Flames 2nd line has been very productive in the past 3 games with 11 points, led by Todd Bertuzzi with 5 points, Langkow is doing bad with a 6 game point streak that has seen him collect 9 points.
The Islanders have recalled backup goaltender Yann Danis from Bridgeport on an emergency basis today because Rick DiPietro is unable to start as he was expected to do tonight in Calgary. Joey MacDonald will make his third straight start on this trip against the Flames at Pengrowth Saddledome.
Oh, I like it alot. Good luck, no Dippi tonight...again....
Well to be honest I wasn't referring to you specifically in my quote. Just that there seems to be a growing consensus of "Where is the Backup" around here. Just wanted to beat them to the punch.
Edit: Never mind...you are a Devils fan....should have double checked. Like you care about Dippi

Sorry about Dippi...still hurt huh.
That's cool, no offense taken. When Brodeur was eternally healthy I got the same stuff from Rangers fans. I get the Isles feeds too, and since they're playing you on the West coast, I get to watch both.
EDIT: I do care about Dippi! I've been waiting for him to get healthy all season.

Well I hope you enjoy the game tonight. Here is hoping no matter what Goalie is playing you're entertained.
Oh and a healthy Brodeur, Dippi and Lundquist for NY/NJ hockey fans all next season.
whats the point of calling him up if he doesnt play? Id think he would play on the top line.
The point, according to Elefalk, was that has already was in town and had been practising with the Flames. Indicating that they hadn't sent him down, yet.
Woah that came out of nowhere. Best thing for Bertuzzi though. If his back is acting up sit him and let him get healthy. Schedule is in our favor right now with quite a few days off between games. Very interested in seeing how Backlund does tonight.
Also really hope McElhinney gets the start tonight. Perfect game to start him and he deserves to get in there.
He would need to be signed by Kelowna by this Saturday if he was going to play in the Dub wouldn't he? I am guessing this might just be a one game experience and then he'll be sent down.
I've always had a soft spot for the NYI..i think they're alot more under-rated than people think. Sad DP's not playing..he's my 2nd favorite goalie (after Kipper).
Excited to see Lundmark and I wouldn't be upset if Big Mac (Tabasco) plays either!
Should be an interesting game to watch... though I won't be upset if NYI win either.
