Tanguay-Lang-Kovalev
S.Kostitsyn-Koivu-A.Kostitsyn
Higgins-Plekanec-D'Agostini
Latendresse-Lapierre-Kostopoulos
Laraque-Chipchura

* I like what i've seen from Pacioretty, but I still think he's very raw and needs more fine tuning in the AHL, if the Habs werent's so deep, I think he could play and not look out of place on a checking/energy line though

* Sucks for Bégin, but IMO, Chipchura is ready and should be in the NHL right now...I can't justify sending Chip down again and losing him this offseason for nothing because of Bégin...I just can't.

dagostini has completly disappeared during the last 5 games and i wouldnt be surprised if he gets sent down before pacioretty, especially how carbo talks about and praises pacioretty's north-south type of game, and saying how well he plays withtout the puck as well

when the boys come back, it will be time to trade for a legit superstar (bouwmeester, kovalchuk type), or like a higgins for kaberle swap

No, just his ice-time and powerplay-time, he doesn't get a chance to play like he did on his current line, but I've seen him make at least one nice offensive play the last two games and that's decent enough considering the line he's on is mostly concerned with not getting scored on. He hasn't changed, just his scenario has.

And why exactly would we be losing him? He's just a restricted free agent.

Personally I still see DAgs doing some good things during games, he just doesnt have the opportunity to show up offensively like he was when playing with Saks, I think he was fitting perfectly with Saku and hope he stays on the team.. I also like MaxPac alot, I think he brings something we lack on our top lines, a big body skating and cutting the ice well..

Personally I dont miss Tanguay a bit but its just me..

i agree with you, and i would like to add higgins as a player i really dont miss

when the injured bodies come back, it will be time to trade for some defensive help and keep the young kids around

higgins and obyrne for kaberle!

Yeah, or make a trade. Maybe for a D-man or a superstar forward.

Easy to say. Harder to do...

You must be under the assumption that everyone will be healthy at the same time...we'll see about that. Still a long way to go before Higgins and Tanguay are back.

Exactly, this reminds me of how everyone had their panties in a bunch in early December because Sergei and Gui were sitting and everyone was freaking out over that and what would happen once Komo would return. In a blink of an eye we lost Higgins, Dandenault and Koivu....

This team has some terrific depth up front. I think the top 12 forwards when everyone is healthy are:

Koivu
Pleks
Lapierre
Lang
Higgins
AKosty
Latendresse
Begin
Tanguay
Kovalev
SKosty
Kosto

Extras: Laraque

Minors: D'Ago, Chips, Pacioretty

I can see Chips staying up but D'Ago has hit the wall and Pacioretty still needs some seasoning in the A.

I think at this point of the season it is clear that this team needs help on the blueline. Can't have Brisebois in the line-up and the team needs help on the PP. So, while I imagine all UFA's to be Dmen like Schneider and JayB are going to be on BG's wish list, the best guy to get may be Kaberle. Outstanding offensive D-man with a completely reasonable contract, languishing on the Leafs. Plus, BG won't want to trade anyone important and has the young players to entice Burke.
