Defiantly NOT a coincidence, but the reason is three-fold.

a) Komisarek makes life hell in the offensive zone for our opponents and is a good defensive presence and works well in his own zone.

b) Komisarek is a good leader. If he wasn't I doubt you would have seen him behind the bench during his injury. Markov and Hammer might be in some ways our best two dmen, but Koimsarek, I believe is the straw that stirs the drink. He makes the other dman play more physical, he makes players pay for the running our goalie when he is on the ice, he makes opponents pay for going into the corners or for standing in front of the net.

c) Without Komi in the lineup, we defiantly have a weaker right side of our defense. Imagine if we didn't have Gorges!!!!!

With Komi in the lineup=O'bryne in Hamilton
With Komi out of lineup=increased minutes for Brisebois and O'byrne in the lineup.
