Player Quotes

Comments After Tuesday's Game:

Quote:
"We knew what this game meant to us, and we played like it. I thought the guys played great, a lot of blocked shots, second efforts to get the puck out of our zone.'' Tomas Vokoun

Quote:
“We really outplayed them, got up a couple, and we really didn't look back from there. It was a good game. The boos weren't too bad out there, I got it much worse when I played here. It was fine." Bryan McCabe

My personal comments:
Quote:
"We need the 2 points tonight against a team we are fighting with in both the division and playoff races. Hopefully Koharski is not a ref in tonight's game becuase if he is we are already starting the game behind the 8-ball. Beezer

Primary Target

Eric Staal. We need to play him tough and be physical with hits every chance we get to throw off his flow. We need to make sure if he is lying on the ice it's because we put hit him there and not because he dove.

ToughnessCats need to show Carolina that they aren't going to take crap from anyone. They need to play them tough and scrap for every realestate of ice they can get out there..

Just thought I'd update: Tanabe's been retired for a while now. Apparently, his concussion last year was bad enough that he couldn't do some basic stuff in everyday life, let alone hockey.

Enjoy your GDT, and Go Gators.

New account because your old one got banned from here?

Kidding, I actually agree with you. Don't think there's been a huge instance yet this year, though I think Staal kinda fell on his own along the boards like he was trying to draw a call earlier this year. Would've worked if there was a Panther within 15 feet, too.

I'm not really trying to troll here....Here's to a good game tonight! For what it's worth--I want the Caps, the Canes and the Panthers to make the playoffs this year--and shut up that Southleast nonsense. Take care.

Definitely. Crazy to think there was a chance of that happening last year. It'd be nice to see one day (so long as the Cats make it further than the Canes).

What are you talking about...34 is downright balmy...67 is almost unbearably hot!

I've voted Panthers with zero confidence...don't know if that's a good omen or not. I fully expect another 'Canes win tonight, but then again, I expected a Leafs win two nights ago, so maybe the boys can surprise me again. Ya never know.

Crazy Belfour always makes me laugh... Nice avatar Lola, i find it very cute.

Back to subject of the game, you guys are way too dangerous this year. I am afraid if things continue to go the way they go JBo will decide to stay.

Hope for a good game tonight and i am fine with 3 points outcome just to piss off the rest of Eastern Conference.

Since you haven't seen us playing in a while, forget about run and gun Canes. After certain recent changes were made we became defense first, clog neutral zone trapping team. Expect low scoring game with a lot of grabbing and clutching.

I was wondering what changes might have happened when Maurice came in. Thanks for the update.

I have to say that if what Canes fans said is true, this SHOULD be the end of the lopsided penalty games as that was the reason they claimed it was so.

Not sure about that.

We are still the least penalized team in NHL.

Wait, you're on the Hurricanes?

I'll never understand why sports fans take attacks on their favorite teams as personal attacks.

The sports team from my local area is superior to the sports team from your local area!!

What up with Olesz? Pulled groin for a month now and still no timeline when he'll be back? I'd love to see Olesz-Weiss-Frolik out there.

Ok, that seriously was a joke. The Canes haven't been up to their old antics against us this year, but unfortunately I did watch that Montreal game and it reminded me about my hatred for the Canes (not their fans obviously).

Is Staal's neck ok though? I really thought he might have broken it...

well... you know that Karmanos and Rutherford bribed entire NHL, right? After all Habs are the most disciplined team in NHL ever, how could they take all those penalties.

Well, i can understand that. Looking at the past record I'd hate us too if i was on your side.

Somehow i managed to like a little Panthers team this year. Besides, as of right now Canes don't have the advantage they used to have in the past. Chances are pretty much 50/50 for the games outcome this season.

Well, we don't have a GDT on our board yet, so it looks like i am going to hang out with you guys for a bit more today.
