Oh noes, someone call the National Guard, 4 Habs players. Those peoples are gonna be rioting and throwing Poutine everywhere. Someone get bettman on the job to stop this travesty, because it's obviously the worst thing in hockey right now.

the funny thing is, if it were another team that had 4 representatives elected through stuffed ballots Habs fans would be *****ing just as much as everyone else

I'm not even sure why people are complaining. The all star game is a waste of time, and an annoying break in the schedule anyway.

The league already has enough ratings problems without whiney, emo kids boycotting games to teach the league a "lesson". The fan voting was an effort for the league to interact with fans. It's been exploited but the league will hopefully try to make adjustments. I absolutely despise many of the Habs fan base (not really for this incident... but for other reasons I won't get in to here), but I will continue to support the league and their efforts to grow the game of hockey. Boycotting the all-star game is not the answer.

I was pretty close with my original predictions. Yeah, I had Gagne picked, but oh well, can't argue with 3 Bruins going.

You should all have voted if you're not happy with 4 Habs starting.

Clearly, the Habs votes are responsible for not seeing 6 to 8 guys that deserved it more. But then, most people can agree that Price and Markov deserve it so who's left....Kovalev and Komisarek. So if Komi is not in, Green is. And if Kovalev is not in, Elias is or Kessel....

Do people realize that despite this, there STILL would be injustice since at least 4 or 5 guys that deserve it would still not make it EVEN if the Habs would not have been voted in?

Can people realize how the 1 player by team IS ALSO a problem here?

Thing is, the 2 hated guys here are Kovy and Komi. Chances are Kovy will give the best show of the guys there. And as much as I don't want to see it, if Komi does not have a contract signed with us, CLEARLY he'll suddenly become an All-Star for all the teams in the league...

Mr. 3 points will SUDDENLY becomes soooooo important all of a sudden.....

Strange that most sane people recognize how important he is in a team (well they will if he becomes UFA) but then he's not worthy to be in an All-Star game. At the very least, it's the demonstration that defensive defenceman could be recognize as well and if they don't have their trophy, at least they're being talked about.

Wow what a screw job. Green gets screwed 2 years in a row. One of the most dynamic D men in the game, he has a game built for an allstar game. I feel sorry for the kid.

The NHL AllStar game is such a joke. And tack on that, so is the league for letting this stupid fan balloting crap continue.

The answer is to take away fan voting, with all the nonsense that has gone on the past couple of years the fans of the NHL have shown they cannot handle the responsibilty.

Let the players and coaches vote on it, like they do in the NFL.

THE STARTERS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING AN ALL-STAR BUT IT'S ALL ABOUT WINNING A FAN VOTE. IT'S ALL ABOUT VOTING FOR YOUR FAVORITE PLAYERS! Get that? Favorite players....does that mean they have to be the greatest? THE ONES WHO REALLY DESERVE TO BE AN ALL STAR ARE THE ONES CHOSEN BY THE COACHES AND CLEARLY 'CAUSE OF THAT 1 REP. PER TEAM, THEY EVEN CAN'T DO IT!!!!!

Lilke I said before, if you want the best players, take the first 40 players in the stats and make 2 teams.

They got in because the NHL set up a system where if you send a text message to the number they set up with the name of the team you root for, it automatically votes for every player nominated. And it doesn't cost anything, and you can do it as much as you want. And the office websites of the Canadiens and the Penguins encourage the fans to vote via this method. And the NHL specifically said, "VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE PLAYERS."

But no, I guess it's the fans' fault. For doing what the NHL specifically instructed us to do.

Good for you. Too bad the rest of the fans did not follow your initiative.

I agree with you that the fan voting needs to be ditched altogether but really, "handle the responsibility"? We're not electing a new government here. If some kids want to stuff a ballot to get their favorite players into a meaningless game that the players really couldn't care less about, who cares? Aside from the 29 other fanbases on HFboards I mean.

Some people don't want to be on their computers 24hours per day, not as Habs fans.

I just don't get how people KEEP mentioning that Habs fans did not elect the best players making them dumb when the other 1 player per team rule does not elect the best players as well? How come people realize that the All-Star game is not an ALL-STAR game? It's a popularity contest mixed with pleasing ALL the teams by having at least 1 player from their respective team so you can have most fans watching.

So someone who is tied for 5th in league in the points isn't going to the All-Star game?

If you are going to allow the fans to vote use expanded rosters to make sure all the players who are deserving get to go.
