Good thing Tippett doesn't have confidence in Stephan. My God, he might actually have to play in an NHL hockey game.

We have to come back and win this game! The only way that will ever happen if Turco is back there, giving the coach confidence!

I didn't see a replay of the call on Detroit. There's a chance it was just as questionable, to be fair.

And it's not like the Stars will do anything with their powerplay anyways.

Modano shows us how an All-Star takes a slap shot!

Because Turco is a vampire that sucks the life out of the rest of his teammates? *doesn't get it*

He hasn't been good in this game. Only one and a half Stars players have been any good at all. Why aren't you riding the rest of them as hard?

Good thing we keep putting Sydor/Niskanen/Modano/Parrish/Robidas/Barch/et al out there doesn't have the same ring to it?

begs the question, would the result have been any different tonight if Stephan had started?

The NHL really has to get it's **** togather. Say what you will about the loose officiating before the lockout, the overall standard was much higher.

Eh, the officiating has sucked, but the entirety of the Stars organization has sucked even more. This would probably be 3-0 without the officiating issues.

Sure, I don't see why not. The Stars were skating right with them to start the game, it was obvious they were pumped up and had brought their best game. Then Turco does his thing, the air goes out of their tires, and here we are. It's all about who scores first obviously.

If that's true, we're back to HF's theory about mental midgets.

The officiating is pretty much a nightly topic of discussion. Players go head first into the boards every day without any call, but get your stick anywhere near horizontal on another player's body and that's a penalty.

All common sense and game management has went out the window - these guys are just ****ing terrible. If you're going to call this ticky tack ******** on one team you better call it on the other as well - that's the major complaint on my part. There's no consistency and you can tell the players have no ****ing clue what the standard is from night to night.

I agree that the officiating is terrible.

I just think the more pressing factor in this game, as frustrating as the officiating is, is the complete inability of the Stars team to play this game called hockey.

The officiating seems like a moot point if the team comes completely flat out of the gate. No emotion, intensity, energy just BLAH.

well if we're going to have a mediocre game atleast it happened against Detroit instead of Phoenix on saturday...

I can't believe this. the teams all around Dallas are struggling and they can't get their act togather enough to get into playoff position

they're ****ing waiving you in Dallas, all you have to do is play some consistently decent hockey - but no. That's too hard to do. Let's just string it along until the last month and then try to get in on a late charge.

Look, piqued gets his wish.

And if the Wings stop pressing and don't score, it will obviously be because Stephan is the Goalie of the Future. And if they score four, it's because Turco already gave them all the momentum.

It's like a no-lose for Stephan. Anything good is only him and not the embarrassed teammates in front of him, and anything bad can be blamed on the other guy.

I want his job.

See? Daley scoring is obviously Stephan's Magikal Powers and the lack of Turco's Life Sucking Force (tm).

Did Eriksson tip that one? Good start for the 3rd but still a long way to go.

Hah! Was the official informed that Ott isn't allowed to fight? Cause he jumped in between them quick.

Alright, Loui!

I like that from Daley, just saying screw it and continuing to just shoot it as hard as he can on net.

Ott deserved the cross check there.

Of course, the Wing deserved the elbow that he didn't get, but it was retaliatory and I at least understand how the the officials can miss the front end (not that, cause it involved a puck carrier, but in general).

I fully support that play by Ott. That piece of **** Kronwall has taken too many runs at Dallas players over the years.

too bad it wasn't a couple of inches higher.

I've never said that Stephan is the goalie of the future. I don't think he is at all. I just think he's better than Turco.

Holmstrom is such a cheap POS. He knew exactly what he was doing, then has the temerity to make the dive motion. Disgraceful.

Hyperbole, with a helping of sarcasm.

But the overriding fact is still there. It's an absolute no-lose situation in the eyes of Stars fans. Everything can still be blamed on Turco, no matter what happens in this third period, no matter that the game is all but decided and the style of play has totally changed because of that.

I guess even Robidas can't complain about that one. So blatantly obvious.
