That sucks... Hansen is a pretty good player on the 4th line.

I would say he's been very good this year, both on the 3rd and 4th line... the good news is he'll be back in plenty of time for the end of the season and the playoffs. I guess it's better this happens now as opposed to just after the deadline because it means we can find a more suitable replacement on the fourth line than Bolduc.

Sami with another maintenance day today. As long as he keeps eating those minutes up and playing mistake free hockey (while being our best passing and shooting defenseman), I don't mind if he never practices again.

Demitra broke his fingertip on a slash tonight though it doesn't look serious right now.

Demitra- Broken Finger

as per www.canucks.com

Quote:
DEMITRA SUFFERS FINGER FRACTURE

The Canucks fell 3-0 to the Montreal Canadiens last night at the hands of the Habs goaltender Jaroslav Halak. The team returns to Vancouver today with a 3-1-0 record on their four-game, cross Canada road trip.

Forward Pavol Demitra suffered a fractured finger on his left hand from an unpenalized slash during last night's game at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

The Slovakia native missed three games in late January with a groin strain, returning for February 3rd game against Carolina. Since then Demitra has made his presence known, playing on a line with Ryan Kesler and Mats Sundin, he has tallied 11 points (3-8-11) in 10 games.

Although Demitra sported a heavily bandaged finger after the game, GM Mike Gillis did not believe that the injury is too serious.

"He broke the tip, but he should be fine," said Gillis. "We'll have him re-evaluated when we get home and we should know more by Thursday."

read this. Basically "not serious" and "should be fine" means out upwards of 10 games when it comes to Demitra. I really hope it's not that bad but losing Hansen and Demitra for the next 3-4 weeks would suck.

I know its not Demo's fault for his injuries, but JESUS JOHNSON, between him and salo, they keep Vancouver General hospital in business.

This isn't really big news, I'm merging it with the injury thread.

Demitra has taken several maintenance days this year, mostly for his vulnerable groin if I'm not mistaken.

I wouldn't be surprised if his seemingly low threshold for pain forces him out of the line-up for 2 games.

So, this is our line-up without him and Hansen:

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows

Raymond - Sundin - Kesler

Pyatt - Wellwood - Bernier

Hordichuk - Johnson - Bolduc

Will Raymond get his umpteenth chance at playing in the Top-6 come Friday? And, of course, the new daddy takes his normal place.

Cue the "Call up Insert Moose's leading scorer(s)!" posts.

Could Kesler move to the LW so Bernier could play on the RW along side Sundin?

Speaking of Bernier, how has he played for you guys lately? Is he a good, all-around player now? I noticed he's been prone to some horrid scoring droughts (on an 8 game one right now).

The effort has been there and he's been a solid addition to our bottom 6. The only people who I think are disappointed with him are the ones that were expecting 25-35 goals while playing on a line with the Sedins.
