Anybody have any ideas? Nobody really comes to mine who has PERSEVERED this year only to come back and be successful.

He has only played 14 games (and than got injured, go figure) but I would think Scott Barney would have to get some consideration. If nothing else, he will probably be LA's representative.

They don't give out the Masterton to people who suffered an injury that was preventable. Heatley cause his own injuries because he was speeding and was driving recklessly. Heatley put himself in that position to be injured. Yeah sure, Kill a teammate, get a trophy. That would send a good message wouldn't it? here Koivu, you had cancer and overcame it, heres the masterton. Here Heatley, you crashed your car, put yourself in critical condition and killed your teamate, heres the masterton. One of those 2 doesn't make sense. That would send a HORRIBLE message out, the NHL won't put themself in a position like that. besides, some people still think he was drunk driving.

It's going to either Pronger or Souray, nobody else comes to mind.

Yeah Souray deserve it imo , he was nobody before and he missed 1 year or Hockey and he's flaming hot this year and was at the All-Star game ... good exemple of perseverance and dedication to hockey .

Plus he's cool with the Kids

If Heatley wins this over Souray, Pronger or Yzerman I think I'll puke.

Why would Yzerman win it two years in a row? Maybe people are just getting mixed up because Berard should have won it last year.

What about Dvorak. What he went through during training camp. His wife had to stay back in the Czech Republic and gave birth to a baby 3 months pre-mature. They were finally reunited prior to Christmas.

Wasn't he cleared of any charges by the police?

Btw, as an extra, I think the NHL should do something for the Snyder family. Nothing but class there.

Souray and Pronger have very similar stories with their wrist injury and stuff...

Only difference is that Souray was a no-name who missed a whole year and everyone thought he'd end his career in Switzerland or something. Then, he comes back and....

Not to be cold, but it seems this award goes to the most famous player to have a comeback season. Therefore, Pronger. Very hard to say though, I haven't seen the nominees anywhere. Heatley won't come near this one, period.

It was a crime that Robyn Regehr didn't win it when he was nominated after his horrific car accident. After that, I don't really care who wins the Masterton because they've rendered it meaningless.

Heatley's accident or not, Scott Barney deserves this more than anyone.
