How clutch was that GWG? Not very.
You make a good point. Stats can be misleading, but it sure looks like an important stat in Miro's case from the actual games that were played.
Sabres Game Log

Games where Satan scored GWG:
10/13 DAL W 4-3
10/30 TOR W 5-3
11/26 WAS W 5-2 (Satan scored 2 goals)
01/22 AT BOS W 3-2
03/03 OTT W 4-3

It also looks evident from the game log that Satan's scored a number of other important goals that were instrumental in the Sabres getting points. He may not be Mr Clutch and he's never been one to turn down a cheap goal, but his value to the team is being severely underestimated by some here. I don't think that's the case with you, as you were just making a point about the stats.

Anyone think a satan-morris deal is out of the question? Rumors have had Morris moving out of Colorado for a while and avs are very dissappointed with Selanne's play. Just like to hear some thoughts from sabres fans.

Supposedly Lacroix was offering Morris for Gonchar and he's also interested in O'Niell. So he's looking for a top dman and a scorer. There would seem to be a nice fit if both Zhitnik and Satan are dealt to the Avs for Morris and and something else. I don't believe there's been any rumors involving the Sabres and Avs and these 2 GM's like to play things close to the vest.

From the Bruce Garrich Slam chat:
http://rapids.canoe.ca/cgi-bin/NewCh...&ACTION=LAUNCH

Corey ONeill Why isent colorado making any trades like come on they could of had Sergei Gonchar?
Bruce They missed out on Gonchar, I think partially because Washington didnt want to take back Derek Morriss $3.5 million salary.
I still think theyre trying to acquire Olaf Kolzig. They sniffed around on Jeff ONeill. Pierre Lacroix is the kind of guy who makes deals out of the blue. I think theyll do something.

I would certainly do it. Our roster is lacking a #1/2 RD who can be a PP QB.

I'm not sure the Avs would, because they'd be weakening a defense already missing Blake.

We could give them Delmore and Campbell...unless they want d-man who can actually play defense.

Look closer. The Boston game in particular, Satan scored an PP EN goal to make it 3-1. Boston scored with 6 seconds left. The game result probably doesn't change if Satan doesn't score. Same with the Toronto or Washington game. Going thru all of Satan's games, there are 6 games where those goals have made a difference, assuming Satan's offense is a net loss (which it would not be).

I'm not saying dump Satan for the sake of dumping him. We can get value for him, and value that fits better.
