I bet he'll play another 10 minutes on the ice next game. Pitiful.

Filatov scored as many goals in 6 games as Stamkos in 40.

Nice few goals... I liked this kid and I did some recent searches on his ability and found a site that had him ranked #2 amongst players NOT in the NHL (though is that right anymore?)

Congrats to Filatov - a hat trick in than 10 minutes of ice...not too bad. Columbus is definitely on the rise; that thread about all the angst of Blue Jackets fans from a while back looks kind of silly now, doesn't it?
I noticed that on the box scores and found that amazing. Anyone have any idea who has the record for the least TOI to score a trick?

I got to watch him quite a bit for CSKA and he consistently reminded me of a young Bure - groundbreaking scorer, can be more than adequate everywhere else. Sort of a more driven and consistent version of Semin. Him or Doughty was the best player in the draft, by a coin flip, IMO.

Columbus certainly landed a franchise talent. Let's just hope for the sake of the sport Jackets get a coach who doesn't retard offensive players the way Hitchcock does. Perhaps have 2 coaches, Hitchcock coaching then on playing without the puck and someone of Boudreau's mindset coaching them on playing with the puck. Then Columbus would become a top 5 team.

Columbus' jerseys are anything but eyesores.. they aren't the best in the league but they are some sharp digs.

I called the leafs making a big mistake taking Schenn over him. Looks at Schenn, -6, 3 points in 30 games and looks like garbage out there.

He isn't, unfortunately.
Knowing Hitch, a couple of <10 minutes games are in the waiting for Nikita..and a subsequent demotion as soon as he won't score for two games in a row.

btw, Voracek is getting only 11minutes of icetime, and for no reasons.

Had we been GM'd by somebody other than MacLean

I think the first few drafts would have been better other than just the top two round picks. MacLean was in charge for Russell and Mason, Dorsett... but those picks occurred as his time was running short.

I'm still embarassed about announcing to the entire bar how the leafs were about to draft Filatov after they traded up. I don't think Schenn is garbage by any mean's, but to take him over Filatov, or over Hodgson who I actually wanted them to take.....i dont get it. Atleast the rumours about Filatov playing for Sudbury didn't come true. lol.

There are actually several reasons:

--Voracek doesn't kill penalties
-Voracek doesn't play against other teams best players
-Voracek was in Columbus all summer and is on the cusp of being emotionally drained. From jrs. to the NHL is a HUGE leap and is exhausting for anyone.
-Voracek still makes 'jr.' level plays that get eaten up at this level.
-Voracek hasn't missed a pp and has what? 1 pp goal all year?

Filatov proved that you don't need loads of ice time to produce, however, scoring goals isn't the only way that you need to help your team. There is a large % of your time on the ice when you DON'T have the puck. The kids, Voracek included, have't always been all that great in that capacity.

This whole: Hitch stymies young players simply not true and there is lots of evidence to support that.

Nash is still a young player isn't he? Brassard was doing just fine. Voracek is having a great year. Zherdev had a great year under Hitch last year.

Gagne developed as a 2-way player under Hitch. Modano wasn't exactly a veteran when Hitch arrived and only really turned into a great two-way player under Hitchcock. Those are some of the more prominent ones, but there are loads of other young guys who have really improved.

You people need to stop perpetuating garbage.

His 2nd and 3rd goals were both tipped by their d men.

Imagine if Maclean chose Kopitar over Brule like he was supposed to. the idiot changed his mind on the way to the podium and chose Brule.

Nash, Kopitar, Brassard, Filatov, Voracek, Mason?

Bill Mosienko in 0:21.

The record for fastest two goals is Deron Quint in 0:04.

The record for fastest two goals overall is 0:02.

Fastest three by one team (not the same player) was Boston in 0:20.
