When is the deadline to choose the assistant coach for the All-Star game?

Hey, I was wondering, when is the deadline to choose the assistant coach for the all-star game ?

If the Habs win tonight, Montreal will have a higher points/game ratio than the Capitals. So if it happen, does that mean that Carbo will be the assistant coach in the all-star or the deadline is sooner or later?

Yes it is the game of tonight that will dictate who's assistant coach.

Julien/Carbo coaching the All-Star game.

That can't be good.

Remember 2 years ago? Same situation, Carbo was one win away but lost his final Saturday game and lost his chance to coach at the ASG in Dallas. Hopefully we win tonight!

I'd bet that Carbo wants to win, but would rather the winner got the weekend off. I can't imagine it being huge to them. Warm weather vacation vs. watching skills competition and having to be witty for the media ? I go out and load up on Bain de Soleil.

ASG should be a big factor tonight. Carbo and Bourdreau want to win to seal their place.

Plus, the Caps as a team are justifiably pissed off that so many of their stars got snubbed. I bet they'll want to take it out on Montreal.

Fact is, one player goes from every team and when Montreal sends 4 through voting, that leaves only 17 spaces for 14 other teams in the East. I love Komisarek, but Mike Green probably honestly deserves it more, for example.

We need to win so that our boys get the ice time they deserve. Well, at least so they get ice time.

yeah, I would agree. I'd take the warm beach and no media over the asg weekend especially in a market like montreal. You couldnt help but notice that carbo felt disappointed (if only for a second) that he couldnt go down to the florida beaches for the all star break.

I have no idea what Carbo's preference would be, but just hypothetically, if he did want to go to the beaches somewhere, I wonder what the repercussion would be if he just politely declined the All-Star game? He's just an assistant coach, after all. Even for players, though, I wouldn't think it would be that big a deal if somebody just declined. :duno:

I enjoy the Pens and Sens struggles. But if they tank enough and get a high pick in 09, I'm going to ****ing lose it.

I bet if somehow Penguins fall to 5th worst in the league, they win the lottery.

Worse would be Tampa getting Tavares.

I see Tavares in an Islanders or Thrashers jersey.
