If they beat the Bruins tomorrow I could see the Habs jumping to top 4 next week.

What a joke.... injuries are an excuse. The Habs are 9-1-1 in their last 11 games...

and are now 4th in the entire league for Win percentage....

The injuries should make them higher in the power rankings considering the way they are playing without them. That system is screwed up. Nothing surprising coming from the *Toronto Sports Network*

Despite all the injuries, habs are the hottest team in the league(along with the flames and wings). We sit 5th in league points. Whatever the system is for power rankings, it definitely doesn't tell the true story.

I'm a Bruins fan and I think they should be higher around 5-8

How many times am I going to have to say this? His formula has a lot to do with key guys being out! We have our entire first line injured...

That and he uses his formula as gospel. He's the type of guy who if the bridge was out would still go ahead if his GPS told him to.

It reminds me of Ogopogo's all-time lists on the history board where Markus Naslund finds himself inexplicably in the top 100 and he defends it to the death because his formula tells him so.

It's all nice and good to have some sort of mathematical tool to rank teams (great if it actually works) but usually for this type of thing the best lists are created by those who just watch the games.

I don't think they are catering to Toronto. He grew up a habs fan. He has a system and uses it.

Ironicly, he has a post indicating he even went to NY to watch a Rangers game. Reality is, it's a system. You don't change odds and ends every now and then. There's systems that go by long term trends and ones that go by short term trends, that alone makes a difference. Our PP isn't nearly as good as the last few years, but it's hot the last few games, halak played better, but let's not forget winning high scoring 1 goal games isn't dominating the opposition. It's taken into account, including we have no top scorers either. We have unproven rookies in the line-up as well. Don't lose sleep over it.

That's the same site that ranked us out of the playoffs last year. Why the surprise?

looks like he needs to add a few parameters to his system.

Montreal is on fire, 4th overall in win% missing our entire top line and starting goalie. Clearly we have the depth to sustain a certain swagger and standing in the league.

looks like the formula needs some tweaking. One of the most important things going into the playoffs, and for a franchise on the whole is great depth.

Wow they put us with florida a currently playoff team who is garbage regardless of being able to make it now.... *cry*

I think you should avoid all media, because every paper or website said we wouldn't make it.

Oh yeah.

How could I forget about the the explosion that occurs when the most insecure fan base in professional sports meets up with the Global Conspiracy to Disrespect the Canadiens.

My bad.

Actually, it's quite clearly a horrible prediction. Boston is leading the league and Ottawa is a league joke. That's an awful, awful prediction.
