Schneider and Williams will bring some kind of return. Reasoner would also draw some interest from playoff teams if he is available(I would like to re-sign him though)

Slava Kozlov, Jim Slater and a 3rd

For

Matt Lashoff, Petteri Nokelainen, future considerations *

* Kovlov would be the future considerations and be dealt back to Atlanta after the season.

Basically, Atlanta gives up Slater and a 3rd for 2 young NHL ready players. Neither looks to be a star, but both will make the team.

It obviously solidifies their blueline

Well it is more of a project to work with. Do you really think Valabik and Exelby will want to continue their careers with the Thrashers(if the organization is still alive) when their contracts are up in 09/10 and 10/11? Getting Redden gives them a project to work with until the 12/13 season.

This is one stupid trade, those "untouchables" also happen to be Atlanta's most tradeable assets.

The only real untouchables on that team right now I'd imagine are;
Little
Pavelec
Bogosian
1st pick
(maybe) Enstrom, Esposito, Sterling

Marty Reasoner (good at faceoffs and can put up decent numbers)
Jason Williams (good passer can play all three forward possitions and the point on the PP)
Exelby (physical d-man arguably our best player when we were in the playoffs last time)
Havlid (sound possitionally and defensively, very underrated)

Schnieder (playoff experience, and leader plus UFA)
Perrin (can play all forward positions and a good PK player----Detroit put him on the PK with Hossa and prepare to be amazed)
Christianson ( decent center wins faceoffs, makes good passes and plays defense)
White (sound hockey player with 2yrs left)
Armstrong (plays both sides of the ice well)
Boutlon thorburn and slater play good defense and will take up for teammates.

But how many of these players are going to bring in what Atlanta really needs, which is 1st round picks, especially in this years draft as well as top-tier prospects.

A firesale is a total rebuild, not just dumping your rubbish.

Most of what we have is rubbish other wise we wouldnt be in this situation. If a team can get kozlov to waive his NTC take him

Or the can trade Lehtonen and get a top line center and a passing winger to work with Kovy.
