Dammit!

TSN2 carried the game up until overtime, then decided it'd be a great idea to switch over to replay the Raps-Celtics game, so I missed Daley's winner.

Key word is winner though, so I'm glad the Stars won!

GO STARS GO!!!!

A ton of activation from the D tonight, and not just on the goals they scored. That accounted for a lot of the sustained pressure in the Detroit zone, especially during the 2nd and OT. The forwards kept utilizing the points and shots kept getting filtered toward Osgood all night. If you generate enough crazy goal mouth scrambles, eventually the bounces will go your way.

Woah, Detroit allowed their most shots against in a regular season game since 1989?

Sweet.

When's the last time Dallas fired 50 on goal?

When's the last time a Dallas team had 50 shots, much less 50 shots against Detroit?! WOW

That perfect stick lift by Eriksson on Stuart as they raced for the loose puck near the boards deserves a mention. Yeah, Stuart had the wrong stick, but that was all about who wanted it more. Loui wins the battle, gets it out to Richards and the play turns dangerous from there.

How the hell is Chris Osgood not apart of the 3 Stars tonight?

6 points by Stars defensemen tonight. That's the most in a while, including 3 goals by D Men.

Yeah! Grossman was a beast tonight. Amazing!!!

He's been shooting more lately. Glad to see it pay off. More than anything though, I'm glad to see him get a little nasty out there. I can't wait until Fistric and him are both regulars. They need some sandpaper out there.

The good kind. Not the trendy, bedazzled sandpaper that use to be coarse but has been used one too many times.

I know, I know. I was the dummy that supported Avery for a while. Can't be right all the time.

Any post with a reference to bedazzling is a win.

Grossman's real enemy this season has been inconsistency. He's got such a great, controlled upside of solid defensive defensemen with a big shot, but he's struggled with a simple game in his own end at times this year.

He was awesome this game. I hope it signals a trend and not just another fluctuation.

Dude, I'm the first person to jump on the "Bench Barch" wagon, but they were playing very good tonight. Plus, that wasn't our standard, suck *** AHL 4th line.

I really like Suthery. I hate Parrish, but at least he's an NHL player. I only hate that Barch gets/got quality ice time over better players early on ... and that he sucks at fighting. His main purpose.

Tonight was that once in a year moment when everyone on the line was great. You don't want to waste that do you?

all he needs is time i think. he developed great so far in north american. when he left sweden it was easy to see his potential, but he really took the steps forward. he learned the things step by step. the mean defensive Ds usually take a bit longer to develop. i'm still confident that he will be at least (!) as good as norstrom and i know that that's a high level.

Barch had 2 assists in less than five minutes of playing time. That amuses me way too much.

Biggie - I don't think I'm negative about Grossman. His up-and-down seems like a much more natural growing-pains progression than Niskanen's regression. It reminds me a lot of Daley, only less spazzy in transition/neutral and more prone to losing guys in his own end in bad games.

I love what Grossman brings. I think he just needs to even it out a bit, much like the whole stupid team.

I totally agree. He's got all the tools to be a really solid defensive defenseman and his inconsistency doesn't concern me from a development standpoint, just an impact on the team this season standpoint.

Congrats on the win, entertaining game.

But wasn't it Loui who scored the winner? Looking at the replay it looked like Loui sweeped it in and was about to celebrate when Daley starts celebrating and thus got credited with the goal.

yeah, but this team got ripped apart with injuries so badly that it would be unfair to ask him to carry the defense. i think he's having a solid season from a team standpoint. he's doing what he was supposed to be.
the inconsistency is a result of the team playing with a different lineup every game, isn't it?
don't tell anyone, but i secretly watch the stars from time to time, and sometimes guys like richards showed up and sometimes not. so even the veterans struggle to be consistent.
the season is cursed, but at least the young guys are moving forward like grossman, eriksson and neal. i really like the youth. this season will be a step forward for you guys. i really think so.

I agree. I just miss totally disagreeing with you.

What happened to the good 'ole days of fights over wording of the new injury policy and Turco suckage vs. Defense suckage? One of us is getting soft .... and I'm not naming names ..... but they have the number 4 in their name.
