Coyotes-Penguins

The Penguins need top six wingers, and badly.

The Yotes need top four defensemen.

Don't worry, Yotes fans, I'm not going to include Mueller, as that will just piss you off, I'd imagine. He's just about untouchable.

Here's what I've got.

Quote:
To Pittsburgh:
Mikkel Boedker
Enver Lisin
2nd

To Phoenix:

Alex Goligoski
Jordan Staal
Please don't flame me too hard.

Yotes are fine at center with Jokinen, Turris, and Hanzal. I think they could use some more young D.

Phoenix needs centers? Jokinen, Turris, Hanzal, Reinprecht...

We don't need Staal, and he's not worth what we'd have to give up.

Boedker is going nowhere. I'd say he's more untouchable than Mueller, by the way.

Lisin for Goligoski might make some sense. Cut out all the rest.

He isn't an improvement offensively over any of the 3 from what I've seen and Hanzal is just as good defensively as Staal....

What?

Staal: 13, 10, 23 (while playing with Minard, Cooke, Kennedy)

Hanzal: 9, 11, 20
Turris: 6, 7, 13

Hanzal plays on the 3rd line and Turris is a scrawny rookie. I see more upside offensively in them than Staal....

Staal has played mostly on the Third Line with minimum PP time where his wonderful supporting wingers sometimes include Minard,Wallace,Goligoski and Satan(when he is Chateau Bow-wow,which is almost always)

I'd strongly consider it. It could be a good fit for both teams. Lisin's upside is insane, and it would hurt a lot to let go of it. He could end up making us look very, very stupid. I imagine he'd tear it up in Pittsburgh. However, Goligoski would fill an organizational need, and is not short on upside, himself. It's close, that's for sure. A potential Jovanovski replacement is probably more usefull to us than a guy who may be stuck behind the likes of Boedker and Mueller, though, so ulitimately, I probably pull the trigger. Even if I'd have overwhelming anxiety attacks over letting Lisin go. It's a good thing Don Maloney is much smarter, and much, much more patient than I am.

No way from a Penguin standpoint. Staal for Boedker I wouldnt do straight up or even with the 2nd. Then Goligoski for Lisin? Thats highway robbery!

Staal is going to be a good #2 center when he gets more consistant. He had what 29 goals his rookie year? He plays on the 3rd line in Pittsburgh. Goligoski has such a brighter future than Lisin!

Funny. As a Phoenix fan, if you were to offer me Staal and a 2nd for Boedker, I'd decline.

Impossible to say. I imagine the majority of Phoenix fans would decline a Lisin for Goligoski swap. I couldn't really make a decision, myself. The only reason I'd consider it is because we'd be dealing from a strength to shore up a weakness.

I d say Lisin upside is probably higher than Goligoski but he is less likely to reach his full potential,Kid skates like the wind could be an excellent fit with Crosby.

Goligoski played for my local USHL team and was BRUTAL in his own zone but deadly on the PP.

Speaking for myself, Turris is a more valuable asset.

If by 'better' you mean today...yes Staal is better.

For the most part, GM's aren't concerned with who is better today, at least as long as Milbury is out of the league.

Can't imagine the Yotes wanting Staal when they have a player as good (or better) defensively in Hanzal.

I wouldn't call Alex Goligoski a "top-4 D man".. he has that upside, but he's playing creampuff opposition relative to others on the Pens.

Yes he is not a imposing player by any means but I judge a guy by positional play. He has a ton of offensive ability and he has been a plus since playing in the pros. That includes Wilkes Barre Scranton.
