Former Predator property Tomas Slovak

It appears things have turned sour for Slovak. Once touted as a major steal for Lacroix, he has been playing for Reading of the ECHL. He was demoted for weak on-ice play and poor work ethic. I really thought he could be a solid offensive Dmen, but not many prospects get demoted to the ECHL and turn into something solid.

DP doesn't toss away prospects for no reason. I said it at the time, I'll say it again.

Didn't Hammer spend his fair share of time in the ECHL last year?

Not a single second. He played all of last year at the AHL. The ECHL is below the AHL and contains very few, if any, players that will be NHLers.

Finley may have in the past few years but it was partly because we had so much depth at G.

Micheal Ryder spent considerable time in the ECHL

but i will say...it's surprising, considering a lot of Avs fans believed Slovak was NHL-ready this year, and expected him to make the team over Liles.

I haven't counted them out. But how many of those players become legit NHLers? (and weren't goalies)

I don't think it's that way anymore especially since the IHL dissolved.

I went through the whole list and only found 8 players that are truly successful (and not goalies/enforcers).

Micheal Ryder
Serge Aubin
Eric Boguniecki
Bob Boughner
Andrew Brunette
Eric Cairns
Alexander Khavanov
Antti Laaksonen

That's 8 skaters out of how many now (10,000) that have become legitimate successes.

Yup, I just missed him. I went through the first time and counted 9. Went back again and only found seven. He's one of the two I missed, thanks.
