I got mine for "free" using Amex points. It's real, from a major sports goods store.

All my jerseys are authentic..that heat pressed garbage is worthless. Heat pressed fake sewn crap is like $180 with name and numbers. Just shell out another $100 and get an authentic one it will last you longer and the quality is second to none.

If you want to buy of Ebay read this
http://reviews.ebay.com/Simple-Tips-...00000004410592

Quote:
Unfortunately the selling of "Fake" or "Bootleg" licensed jerseys on EBAY and other online sites is a serious and growing problem. As one of the few legitimate sellers of "Authentic" Officially licensed jerseys on Ebay we recognize the difficulty buyers presently have in sorting through the incredible amount of fakes listed in the respective fan shops on Ebay.

We have outlined below a few simple tips in spotting and avoiding "Fake" jerseys.

1) ALL "officially licensed" Baseball, Football, and Basketball Jerseys MUST have a "Hang Tag" (usually attached to the inside neck label) and a "Jock Tag" (usually sewn on the bottom front left hand side of the jersey) clearly visible on the jersey. If you see a jersey being sold without these "tags" you can be 100% sure it is a "fake".

2) If a Seller does not provide the name of the "Manufacturer" (or Brand) in his description it is most likely because he is selling a "Knockoff" or "Fake". All legitimate sellers will always indicate the "Brand" of the jersey ("Majestic", "Russell", "CCM", "Reebok", "Mitchell & Ness", etc.) in their descriptions because it will help to sell the item.

3) If a seller describes his item as "Factory Sealed" you can pretty much bet it is a "fake". All legitimate "Majestic" baseball jerseys, and CCM Hockey Jerseys are NEVER shipped "Factory Sealed".

4) If the pictures the Seller provides in the listings are poor, and distant, it is most likely because the seller does not want you to get a good look at his "Fake" item. Sellers of legitimate products will always try to make sure they provide the clearest and largest pictures to their customers.

5) Always be wary of Sellers who use "Stock" or "Computer generated" pictures in their listings. These pictures are easy to download from the manufacturers website and in most cases the seller does not even have the product on hand.

6) Presently only the following manufacturers are licensed to produce jerseys:

a)"Majestic Athletic" is the exclusive "On Field" uniform manufacturer for MLB baseball.

b) "Mitchell & Ness" is the official manufacturer of "Authentic" Throwback Baseball jerseys.

C) "RBK/CCM" is the exclusive "On Ice" uniform manufacturer for NHL hockey.

7) Use common sense. If a seller is selling an item for way below the retail and wholesale value it is safe to assume that the jersey is either Fake, or is a Second (damaged). The phrase "If something looks too good to be true, it probably is" never wrung more true than on Ebay.

I hope the above information has been helpful, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding the authenticity of an item you are interested in.

Please add us to your "Favorite Sellers" and enjoy our EBAY STORE !!

I ordered a jersey from there for the first time this past offseason. Best value and fastest delivery (had it in three weeks)...and top notch customization as well. Plus, $6 shipping whereas other sites can charge $10 or more. I plan on shopping there again.

Only if you are stupid. If you keep a close eye on pictures on eBay and the sellers history you usually get legit merchandise for less than half the price. I bought a brand new Gagné Reebok Edge jersey for 20€ off eBay (but quite frankly, this was a lucky pick-up). I also spotted counterfeit merchandise and reported it to eBay.

The easiest way to spot fakers is obvious wrong color schemes, off-scale logos or numbers and missing brand tags. Comparing the pictures sellers provide to images of original merchandise should easily tip you off.

eBay is a good choice if you don't care really care what jersey you get and/or if you are not willing to pay $100+.

The ones off ebay from Asia or sold through Canada for really cheap prices are what I call "real" fakes. They use the same materials and the jersey's are 99.9% the same as the ones you buy from the NHL or a reputable store. They get the material from the manufacturers and usually work during the day making the jersey's. They buy the material and make the jersey's just like the "real" jersey's. if you know how to shop on ebay you will get a great product for a great price.

Except if you go to compare the jerseys, there are definitely differences. All jerseys off ebay, from asia or sold through Canada Ive looked at, the fonts on the back of the jerseys are wrong, and the letters of the names are not spaced correctly. Also, sometimes you can see the names slanted on the back when put on, although not all of them. The big thing to me anyway is using the wrong font on the back of the jersey.

Perhaps you don't do your research well enough. I just got a Carey price jersey and compared it to an authentic and it is spot on. The same as all of the soccer jersey's I have bought off ebay.
