Flyers first-half MVP

Who do you believe has been the most valuable player for the Flyers success through the first half of the season? Thankfully, we have several guys worthy of recognition.

Impulse vote went to Carter.

Easily could have been, and maybe should have been, Kimmo.

Everyone's favourite new man-crush will win this poll, but it's Kimmo and it's not even close.

I thought of carter, but the team would really be nowhere without Kimmo

Kimmo

Don't know if there's another defenseman more important to his team than Kimmo is to the Flyers.

i overanalyzed and reasoned that MVPs tend to be forwards, thus carter

though you guys are probably right, this team falls apart without kimmo.

Jeff Carter. The only one that is close is Kimmo.

Kimmo is a guy that we cant lose at this point of the season but losing carter and his relentless attack and ability to take over a game along with his 29 goals would be tough to lose too. Its tough but hartnell and lupul before playing with Carter this year were having a rough season and if he wasnt around they might not have came out of their funk which would leave us with 1 legit scoring line and a mediocre defense. I went with Carter.

Now that im thinking about it, Carter could be out of the lineup and we'd be ok. When Kimmo is out, the team falls apart.

Kimmo is the glue that bonds the Flyers.

Just look at last season when he missed games with the blood clot in the playoffs. We came undone...real fast, and it wasn't pretty.

First-half MVP - Timonen.

Honourable mention - Carter/Richards

Comeback Player - Gagne

I also tip my hat to John Stevens who has done a good job with all the injuries. While most of you hate him, he deserves a lot of credit too.

Jeff Carter has the numbers and is breaking out, and we all love him and such. But:

Flyers without any other player > Flyers without Kimmo

As great as Carter has been, I voted Kimmo....Without him that defense all of a sudden becomes much much worse.

If Carter put up as many assists as he does goals, we might have a different story

I might have to get a Kimmo jersey although I still don't have a Richards one, but it doesn't hurt to be different.

I voted for Mike because I am a homer. However, without Kimmo this team is a 6-7 seed at best and a first round out.

I am actually doing the same....I was going to get Richards on my black jersey, but then when the 3rd jersey came out I said I want to get one of them with Richards and I will put Timonen on the black one (I was going to get Downie...oh well)
