Hey, here's another il' tidbit. Malone has played on a team with Crosby and Malkin. Arguably the 2 greatest players in the NHL right now. No doubt he's played at least a lil bit with both of them and if he hasn't that would just further prove my point...
Stajan has played with.....???? Yep you guessed it. No super stars. And Sundin and Stajan are both centers.

And really, Toskala's salary is too high to make sense if they're focsing on dropping salaries. If they trade Vinny, I really think it'll just be to make a fresh start.
That very well could be the case...

As for Toskala, he only has one yr remaining on his contract.

Yeah I'd still rather have Malone.

That's cool. To each their own.

But, even with his contract? Just curious.

Hmmm, don't get me wrong I think Malones contract is ridiculous, but thats starting to seem like the norm these days. Whats Stajans contract like?

Malone came back from injury about 15 games ago since then he has scored 20 points. Which is almost as many as Stajan has in all 36 games this year (22points). And for the season in 33 games he has scored 23 points so is outscoring Stajan.

All that talk about playing next to great centres so he is overrated, he is playing with Halpern currently who no one would describe as one of the best centres in the NHL (dont get me wrong he is a great 2nd/3rd line centre though but not on Crosby level by any stretch of the imagination) he is actually on target to meet the points he scored last season and that is with being on a 15 games cold streak and being injured for 10 games.

So what I am trying to say is Malone is staying in Tampa we dont mind his "ridiculous" contract

Uhhh... Mike Smith > every other player in this deal combined.

Pretty sure Tampa doesn't do this one, and lol at all the Stajan fanatics.

I propose...

Toskala (4mil, 1 yr remaining)
Tlusty (entry level contract)
Stajan (1.9 mil, 1 yr remaining)

for

Malone (4.5mil cap hit, 4yrs remaining)
Jokinen (RFA, will he demand a raise from his 1.8?)
M.Smith (2.2mil, 2 yrs left)

This should help, especially getting rid of Malones long and expensive contract.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Positive feedback appreciated.
I'd rather not downgrade in net.
