Sundin
How could it not? One player can change the whole outcome of the game.

That being said, the Devils have worked hard and deserve the lead.

Yeah, it was a neat play. But I can't help but think that the goal was aided somewhat by the fact that LaBarbera was three feet to the right of his net when the puck went in.

I just can't see the Canucks on the outside looking in come playoff time, but perhaps their 'cup contender' status bestowed upon them when Sundin signed might need to be looked at.

What's the big surprise? A fair evaluation would put Canucks in the 4-8 spot with Luongo, bottom 5 without.

The only delusional fact is how many Canucks fans were claiming that the team will be just fine without Luongo.

No we said we'd still be in a playoff position without Luongo.

And we still are.

3 terrible, terrible goals, each one of them a de-motivating back breaker. I can excuse Sanford, he came in cold...

Can't wait for Luongo on Thursday...

Without Luongo the team has about the worst record in the conference. It's a fact.

One would assume that they get better after Luongo comes back and Sundin is less rusty. Calgary might build a big lead in the division however.

Take away the best player on each team and they'll do worse. Especially when the best player is a goalie.

Okay champ, take that crap elsewhere. I hate the idea that anyone who questions there team around here is a bandwagoner. I don't have to read your pretentious drivel to know I'm not a bandwagoner.

This is a very predictable storyline. Luongo goes down. The Canucks hold it together for a while but start to falter. All of a sudden our savior is miraculously healed, and he comes back to save the team.

But don't let me stop you from going into a panic.

there has been a lot of that, cant wait until thursday...i know luongo probably wont return to his dominant self right off the bat but imo even in his adjustment period the canucks will start to get their confidence back and start playing much better hockey.

bandwagoner or not canucks fans see enough posts complaining about the team when they are doin bad on our own boards, there was no need to come and post this on the main boards....and say crap like "i can hear the i told you so's already" why not paint a target on your groin and start telling people kick me anywhere but here.

But Sundin was supposed to make them on par with Detroit and San Jose

4-3 now... so much for 'backbreaking' goals.

Good on the Devils for taking advantage of the complete ineptitude of the Canucks in the 1st.
