Shea Weber

Shea seems to be having his breakout season. Hypotentically speaking of course, what could he fetch on the open market?

He won't be traded, so I would say, ridiculously high.

No, no. I want Weber pretty badly. I'll sacrifice it.

I wanted to deal Semin for Weber last year. Now, Semin's not enough. Weber's about untouchable at this point.

Make a list of the 5 top players in the league. His value could get any of the rest of the players

About the same as Luke Schenn, Eric Staal, Alex Ovechkin or Sidney Crosby.

Free translation: he won't fetch anything because Nashville is unlikely to trade him anytime soon.

His value is enormous, and he is what his present club needs, so finding any deal where Nashville improves would be problematic, to say the least. He is signed to a multi-year deal at a good rate. He is getting paid $2M to $3M less than his probable market worth, and will be so paid for two more seasons. The result is a player who is well nigh untouchable.

5 top 5 picks is probably what he's worth, so if you can swing that deal, more power to you, other than that ... good luck & good night

if i could take one player in the NHL today to build my franchise around, it would be Shea Weber.

His value is incalculable

The nice thing about Shea's new contract is that he is still an RFA afterwards.

Will RFA status actually stop the offer sheets from flying?
