Why isn't Tanguay on IR??

If he's out for up to 6 weeks with a shoulder injury, then why is he not IR?

He's in my pool and i can't replace him until he's better without dropping another player.

Whats wrong with the habs?? they're ruining my fantasy league game!! lol

Heheh. Me too.

I think the rule is that the player can only be put on IR after 7 days from the initial injury. So, assuming Tanguay got injured on the 30th the first day of his inability to play would be the 31st. He should be on IR as of yesterday or today - I'd think.

He is on IR for sure.
Look at how many players are on the Habs roster.

I think it's retroactive to the time of the injury bigred50. Can someone confirm that?

Yeah its definitely retroactive. The Habs get all the cash credited back from the point he was injured as soon as he goes on IR.

They don't get cash back, Tanguay still gets paid. They just have the cap hit adjusted to that time.

The way it works is the Habs are allowed to go above the cap in order to sign a player to replace him. However, before he can be reactivated, they must go back under the cap again.

There is a temporary reduction, but not a permanent one. We might be able to save somebody like Dandenault's salary by never playing him again. Which is fine by me.
