I wonder if Ottawa could take him? After Gerber scratched i can really see the sens picking him up.

if given a chance, John Curry would be a real solid backup to Fleury. I saw him at BU during his senior season (my freshman year) and he can put a team on his back.

haha, wow.. I looked up and down the list for this thread and completely missed it.

I'm sure he'll stay in the NHL, even if he clears. Maybe Montreal?

Stupid move by Gillis.
At this point Sanford = Labarbera. Both have pros and cons.

Barb is bigger and covers more of the net but his agility is average and his technique is sloppy. Seems to have a lot of confidence though.

Sanford's technique is pretty solid, but his reflexes are average and he's too small for today's NHL. He also tends to wilt after a bad goal.

You can't teach size and moxie and Sanford looks to be as good as he'll ever be while it appears Barb's technique and agility could be improved. The Canucks' Ian Clark is one of the better goalie coaches in the NHL and I'm sure he saw the same thing.

Canucks picked Barb's upside over Sanford's consistent averageness, which is actually the smart move given that they have Luongo.

I would laugh really hard if that happened, but there's really no way.

The Islanders, that I can see happening.

How bout Ottawa guys?, Him and Auld could be a good duo, unless they trust Elliot too much.
I'd much rather use Elliott and/or Gerber with Auld.

Hurricanes perhaps? The contract is a nice size for us and he would be capable of winning a few games.

Calgary? They could use somebody compotent to give Kipper a rest. I mean, McElhinney's okay as a backup but it's obvious Keenan & co. don't have enough confidence in him to rest Kipper as much as he should be at this point so maybe a more veteran option is needed.

Calgary should pick him up for no other reason than a possible playoff matchup with the Canucks. They could give Kipper a rest, and win the series in 4 straight without surrendering a goal.

Takes 24 hours to clear waivers, so he's got 7 hours to go.

We've still got two hours.

Players are only placed on waivers at noon. Eastern Time.

One user on the CBJ board said that Hitch, in an interview on a local radio station this morning, made it sound like we didn't get him.

Wherever Sanford lands I wish him the best. I just hope he lands an NHL job as I don't want Cory Schneider's ice-time to be affected.
