Flyers Fans best in country

Quote:

In terms of passion and priorities, no American city can probably match any of the six Canadian cities. But, as I've written in this space many times, I believe Philadelphia is the premier hockey city in the United States in terms of the personality of its fan base. I think it's the most loyal, passionate and supportive. A big reason for this is that the Flyers are a five-star organization in terms of how they treat players and chairman Ed Snider's desire and passion to win.

The Flyers had a bad stretch in the early '90s, but other than that, they have always had good and spirited teams. It's just a very interesting vibe when you see a Flyers game in person. You can feel the fans' presence make its way down to the ice.

St. Paul, Minn., certainly would be among the top cities because it is the epicenter of hockey passion in the United States. Nowhere is the culture of hockey participation greater than Minnesota. It is practically Canadian in that regard. From an NHL fan standpoint, fans there have bought every ticket to every Wild game despite not having a face of the franchise and playing a style that is, well, pretty boring. But I'm gonna give Philly the nod because the Flyers have been around longer and their history has been so compelling and interesting.

With that mind, let's go with:

1. Philadelphia
2. St. Paul, Minn.
3. Everybody else tied for third.
Thanks MSE for making my post look pretty.

No brainer here.. We are the real hockeytown..

I don't think Detroit would even sell out if they had the seasons like we did in the 90s. Even when our team sucks we still support them 200%

Philly is the best sports town in America. Wanna know why? I would venture to say 7 out of every 10 (Round about figure seems this way...) Philly sports fan, actually is familiar with the sport they follow. A lot of other areas, you mention offsides in any sport and they get puzzled looks.

Philly knows sports, and knows when teams try to highlight the fans ignorance. We not always be right, but we deffinatly know what we are talking about (Eagles need a #1 pro bowl WR. Jackson is too small, hes nothing. Oops. my bad. lol). I love when out of towners try to teat MY fanhood. We may not act it, but we are intelligent people here (including our out of town fans).

In South Jersey the Flyers had an established fan base...in North Jersey the Rangers and Islanders had an established fan base...and the Devs have been caught in the middle. Just now you're reaching the point where fans who grew up with the Devs (no assurance that they're Devs fans) are old enough to be earning incomes capable of buying season tickets.

Not to mention the fact that the pricing for the Devs has always been a bit ridiculous.

One thing about the Devils, I am just happy I paid taxes for their new stadium and they put NJ on their shirts unlike those new york ****** giants/jets.

Noone outside of this region understands that south of trenton is Philly Country. I have been called a fake Philly fan my whole life because I happen to live in South JErsey. **** you, how are we fake? Im sure most of us South Jersians have been diehard Flyer fans since birth. Funny because its most NJ resident NY GIANT fans who spew that ******** lol.

I don't quite understand why the NHL would ever put a team in Jersey esp. north Jersey. They have 2 hockey teams up there pretty much between the, NYR's and the NYI's. Market fail in my book.

I would have put the team in CENTRAL JERSEY a neutral location. But when they did it was stupid, by the time the Devils came to be, Philly and both NY teams were established with solid fan bases.

Wanna know the ****ed up thing about Philly being the #1 hockey town?

This is a football town. LMFAO. This city bleeds green. lol.

BTW Dave, New Jersey is the most densly populated state in the Union. Putting a team here is a good idea. Poor timing and location. Philly = 10 minutes from me. East Rutherford = 1.5 hours UP THE ****ING TURNPIKE so more like 2 years away...

No no no. You are a Pretzelvanian. From Lancaster to northern DE to Trenton, that's Pretzelvania. And the Flyers, Sixers, Eagles, and Phillies are Pretzelvania's teams!

Central Jersey has it's rich spots but not like the ones in South Jersey close to Philly. A lot of it is middle class, plus NJ charges a lot for their tickets and stuck their arena in Newark.

Youre 100% Right. South Jersey has Cherry Hill and Moorsetown. Moorestown being the nicest town in America. I love Moorestown, its extremly beautiful there. That alone owns Central Jersey lol. Although Princeton is around there lol.

Forgot Voorhees too, where is also where the Flyers practice facility is.

Princeton's about as South as you can get in Central Jersey. That and it's about 1 to 1.5 hours away from Newark, depending on traffic. Also, they might still be in territory to get Flyers games(correct me if I'm wrong).

I live right outside Voorhees, i have no clue how I forgot that.... And its next to Cherry Hill.

I forgot Medford too, which has to be the richest town in the world. Unbelievable money in there. My work is based out of Medford and I work in all these towns, its really ****ing rich down here lol. Shamong has some rather well off people living there, but thats because its spacious. lol. I love Shamong NJ.

Princeton I think gets Flyers games iuno tho. Ill look into it
