Nice...Didn't know that was on tonight. Good heads up!

Have to say the NHL Network has made some tremendous strides this season. Last year, I must have sent 15 emails to them about thier programming. I mean, they have all the tools here to take the sports popularity to new heights. 24 Hour hockey...but the programming last year was flat out terrible. Couldn't possibly watch the 06 cup finals anymore. Even the classic series was really getting to me. Then they aired the memorial cup...then some solid draft coverage. This season they did a great job with the world Jrs. This is what the sport was always missing here in the US. There was little or no exposure to the youth of the game. Now, the NHL network is covering more and more, and we as fans can get to see these kids firshand, rather than relying on draft guides, and scouting services.

Good job NHL Network!

Duchene is some player, I would spend the second overall on him.

Took the puck from the corner, shielded defender draped on his back with one arm, and with one hand on his stick shoveled a nice pass that Nestrasil converted for a goal. He's a solid kid, size isn't a big deal for him. Very strong skater, and can take the puck and go..

Kane looks every bit the hype he's been getting. Loves to shoot and moves like he's one of the better prospects.

What's Cowen's deal? Doesn't really look anywhere near a top 3 pick. Although some of the other high profile guys had a quiet period like Schenn.

Yeah for an extra 6 a month (you get 10 or so channels, iO Sportspak).

And I am so glad Team Orr is wrecking Team Cherry , I can't stand Don.

From what I've seen there are atleast 7 legitimate skaters at the top..

John Tavares
Matt Duchene
Jordan Schroeder
Victor Hedman
Evander Kane
Magnus Svensson-Paajarvi
Brayden Schenn

Those guys seem to have locked in their status of elite players, and there's no telling who else creeps up there IE. Holland, Ellis, Cowen, Despres, Eakin, Josefsson, Kulikov, Morin, Shore, Panik, Kadri, Lander, Leblanc, Glennie, Beck, Elliot, Doherty..

There seems to be a lot of likeable guys in this draft.

I'd love to get Ellis but an organztional need is top end talented forwards so we should probably take one in the first round.

I had made plans to watch this game but I had to reshuffle and hang with the lady last night. Bummed to have missed it because I really wanted to see Duchene play.

Just checked Central Scouting and Kassain dropped all the way to 24th for NA Skaters. He was up in the top ten for a while there. Being such a plysical player, i'll bet some snatches him up ealrier than that though.

I saw the hit but his left knee buckled kind of awkwardly as well.

I watched the game, here are a few guys I liked:

Matt Duchesne: Awesome player, gonna be a first line Center someday.

Cody Eakin: Excellent two way forward, very smart and a good skater.

David Gilbert: Good size and played smart. Scored two goals, one shorthanded, looked like a good finisher so I was surprised to read he only has 7 goals on the season.

Brayden Scenn: Gonna be a tough as nails Center. Skill and toughness should make him a top 5 pick.

Peter Holland: Good size and was always involved with the puck on the ice. Good skater, looks like he can find open ice and create chances.

Tommi Kivisto: Looks like a solid NHL Dman. Liked his puck skills, but in this game didn't see any physicality, but cant expect that in the top prospect game.

Scott Stajcer: Goalie, played well, didnt let up many rebounds, is big, quick and looked calm.

Shame about Tavares getting hurt.

Given his post-game reaction and his seemingly dropping draft stock, this kid seems like a nice possibility for the Rangers '09 1st, especially if the Islanders nab Tavares. This may be premature, but if the hit and the aftermath turn into bad blood, that would be a great addition to the existing rivalry.

Heres a prediction!

Watch the Penguins fall to bottom of the league like a rock and find a way to get into the lottery on the last day of the season and then pull out like a 1.7% chance and get the first pick and draft Tavares.
