Jason Pominville.

The Sabres need a center something fierce and their biggest movable asset is most likely Pominville. With a remotely C, he can score at around a PPG (see last year). He's also very good on the penalty kill.

He's 25, making a little over a million this season and is slated to make 5.3 for the next five years.

Gomez is always available. He's making 8/7.5 for the next, idk 5 yrs

Rangers will probably have to sweetin the deal, maybe a pick or something

I'd love to deal Drury but thats even less likely than Gomez

Not interested in trading him.

We're not rebuilding right now. He's signed longterm to a good contract. Trading him for a Center just downgrades us at RW. Pass on all offers.

Yeah, he's going to be 5 million of things we don't need. We have a ton of wingers who PK. We need a gritty 2nd line center who's good for 60+ points and is signed at 4 mil max. Or a 2nd line C and a big, mean RW prospect. This team needs centers and it needs physicality, two things that Pominville just doesn't provide.

And we're not rebuilding, but this team needs a shakeup of some sort and needs to grow and gain some grit, chemistry and leadership while we develop guys like Myers.

I say no to Gomez because of his contract. I don't want Drury back. The only players on the Rangers who really interest me are Dubinsky and Callahan.

But it seems that you are really weak down the middle. You don't have one legitimately strong center besides Roy.

And giving up Pominville is not the solution. I'll give up picks and prospects first. Again... we have absolutely no reason to trade him.

And if we need to free up cap room for a Center then obviously that means Hecht would need to go which frees up money and we could also get rid of Max etc.

I would gladly do Gomez for Pommer, but the Sabres have no reason to trade Pommenville, they'd be better off finding a diff way to get a center and keeping Pomm.

Who on the Sabres has enough value to get a 1b/2nd line center? I'm legitimately interested because I may be undervaluing some of the Sabres due to the way some guys have played lately. And currently, Stafford is higher on the team's depth chart than Pominville, at least, he's played head and shoulders above Jason this year.

And the Hurricanes have nothing the Sabres are interested in.

Trading Pominville is out of the question.

Vanek Roy and Pominville are all signed to nice contracts. Especially Vaneks and Roys. Throw Miller on there and we have a nice core.

Tim Connoly remember, could be a #1 Center on 50% of teams when healthy (key word!) Maybe he will actually play the rest of the season?

But as far as getting a legit center, you can probably dangle picks, prospects and or Max to get one Id say. Keep Pommer

Although I should say, it depends who. It would need to be a really attractive Center. Maybe Tampa Bay would give up on Stamkos early...

Start a

"Value of: Stafford or Afinegenov 1st" and see who offers what.

I'd give you Ribeiro (5 mil. for the next 4 years) a pure playmaker that can click with Vanek.

Buffalo wins but not by far. It makes sense, but the actual problem of Buffalo could be the next problem of Dallas. Who can take Ribs place?

This one has been beaten to death on this board. I have no interest in Jordan Staal at all. He disappears all the time in games. He probably wouldn't even be an upgrade over Hecht... that's how little I think of him.

Pommer isn't going to be traded. If he was, I would have a broken hand from punching my wall if that was the return.

Pominville needs to go. Unless the Sabres suddenly plan on spending to the cap, the only way to acquire a legitimate high-end center is to trade Pominville for that player and in doing so, get Pominville's contract off the books so the money evens out (or comes close). Forget about moving Vanek; it's flat-out never going to happen.

To Tampa:

Pominville
Luke Adam
Tyler Myers
First-round pick

To Buffalo:

Vinny Lecavalier

You throw a fit every time someone proposes a Sabres trade in which an asset is given up, it seems. You do realize that you're not going to rob a team of a terrific player, right, and that you need to give in order to get? Pominville is this team's most movable asset, without question, and if trading him means acquiring a really good center, then you ought to be all for it.

Anyone who watches the Sabres night in and night out should be for it, actually.

I think both teams win. We still have Richards and Hull won't let Modano retire until he's like 46

So we have 2 legit centers and a ton of depth at the wings.
