Why so few trades?

Is it me or have there been really few trades so far? We haven't made any and most other teams haven't either.

Is everyone really that happy with where they are headed?

With the salary cap and the standings being so tight it's just really difficult.

Don't worry, everyone is just waiting for the trade deadline, and last years was one of the busiest in history.

there usually arent that many trades during the season, obviously up until the deadline, i would say u'll see a lot more activity come the beginning of february. after january teams tend to sense where their team is headed, whether it be a playoff spot or if it looks like they just dont have enough to get into the playoffs, theres usually always a trade in the end of january though, some team decides to make a move for a good player early so they can be the first to get them.

Salary cap.

Teams build their team in the summer and tweak it at the deadline.

The max cap teams have little room to make a major room and the budget teams can't take on money during the season.

It's still early regarding trading season. There will probably be a few noteworthy ones in the coming weeks and then of course a lot at the deadline.

Its been this way since the lockout.

With shooutouts and the extra point for getting into OT, many more teams are now competing for a playoff spot through the winter.

When the trade deadline approaches, and its more clear whose a buyer and whose a seller, you'll see trades start to happen.

There will be more trading come the deadline. I don't think there will be many but I do think we will see some big ones this year involving big name players.
