I can laugh at Richie now that we won but that was bizarre to say the least.

If you believe in astrology, he's an Aquarius, the crazy sign.

Richards was thinking outside the box. He may have also set up Gagne in that Vokoun's timing may have been off. If I was Richards I wouldn't have tried to make a move, I'd just wrist it in the corner and give Vokoun no time to react. Oh well, the end justified the means.

Gagne was the post-game Star of the Game on WIP.

I'm confused... I quote Richie from yesterday
"I think we were getting outworked so bigtime, it's just embarassing"..

And then such a Shoot out... wow!

anyway... my feelings right now:

now after thinking about it, it wasn't too bad of a move by Richards. If you come down slow, the goalie has to back up at the pace you come down. Then if you put on the jets, he has to start moving backwards faster. If you are the shooter you have the advantage by knowing when you are going to start moving fast, so you might be able to get around the goalie, not a bad idea by Richards if ya think about it

Whew, thank God we got the win. We needed it. The Devils won and are right behind us in the standings.

Nice to come home to find a win. And a shootout win? Doubly impressed!

I haven't read through the game thread yet, other than the end. I'm going to have to see a replay of Richards' shootout attempt, judging from the responses here!

Nutshell:
  • Florida got off to a good start.
  • The Flyers then changed the mo, got a PPG and had control with a 2-0 lead.
  • Then the second period was filled with penalties, a cheap call in at least one instance, some justified and Florida tied the game. The period could be best explained by:
  • Then a chippy third period with Lupul committing a dumb penalty in the final three minutes
  • Then the OT
  • Then the shootout with Gagne getting the only goal.
  • Nitty was terrific all game.

I had a hockey game, and didn't see any of this one. What did Richards try to pull?

Practically walked up to Vokoun with the puck and then tried a sneaky quick burst around him to the backhand. I actually liked the idea and I'm betting he may have snuk a few of them in during practise. Gagne's goal was slick.

Richards tried something, it was a solid attempt. Give God a break once and a while.
