News And Notes
Quote:
Ville Peltonen didn't want to talk about his broken foot very much today, letting his work on the ice do the talking. He says he feels fine, the pain is minimal and he's playing tomorrow. Peltonen broke a bone in his foot during the first period of Saturday's 8-4 win over Atlanta, scoring two goals in the process. He took a few days off, but was back out there today and even did extended post-practice work.

PDeB told XM Radio today that Don Cherry ought to note Peltonen's toughness. Cherry is notoriously rough on European players, and PDeB notes that Peltonen is not only Finnish, but tough as nails as well.

-- Kamil Kreps is progressing, but PDeB says he still needs time for his injured shoulder to be ready for game action. Kreps told me he's aiming toward playing Monday when the Buffalo Bison come to town.
Sun-Sentinel: Panthers' Ville Peltonen makes 'miraculous' recovery
Miami Herald: Florida Panthers focused on keeping edge through 5-day break
George Richards' Blog, Your Source For Reliable, Early Panthers Info!

Red Hot Cat Of The Night David Booth, with 13 points in his last 8 games, leads the team in points, goals, and powerplay goals.

Primary Target
Jeff Carter, the current prodigal son of Philly is tied for the lead league in goals. One of their favorite projects, the Flyers are turning a member of a family who was once shunned for not following his music background, into a budding NHL superstar. Here you can see his throngs of fans, who are also big followers of his hit reality tv show, House of Carters. Together with his brothers Ryan, Aaron, and Anson, they form an unstoppable group of players who could probably care less about each other.

LET'S GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, he said it yesterday. Im anxious to see how they come out and play tonight. It sucks that we play so well, only to have a five day break screw with us. Hopefully they learned from what happened after the Christmas break and really take it to the Flyers early. Should be a good game, and the Flyers should be amped for this one after losing to the Bolts last night.

OT...that video is so old lol. Aaaaah...the good'ol days.

Panther vote cast...despite Flyers goals leader Jeff Carter has more goals than Panthers point leader David Booth has points. So this is to say, I don't really feel confident about a win tonight...but I'll vote Panthers anyway. Let's see if the magic holds on that combination

Big weekend starts tonight. Philly lost to Tampa last night so I'm sure they'll be really pushing for a win, but hopefully they are just too tired. Interested to see how we respond after the break. Good to hear the guys try to do things different this time around.

A big, heavy, slow-skating team (sadly, not all of them) vs. what should be a fresh and rejuvenated Florida team.

I don't like it that the Flyers lost last night, I wish they had won big and came in fat. But that's not the case, so I just have to hope the Panthers are the team that comes out flying.

What I really want to see is a Panthers team that handles the layoff well. Lots of speed, lots of team defense. This Flyers team can be beaten.

Great DGP, as usual, by the way.

We need Vokoun to play SOLID or else were in big trouble tonight. He needs to make the big saves early on because I think Flyers will come out flying.

I'd MUCH rather play Biron than Niittymaki because Biron sucks. It's sad, but I don't like the Panthers coming off a long break.

Tampa beat Philly last night, which doesn't sit well with me right now. Hopefully we can take at least 2 or 3 out of 4 points in these two games. But I'm still staying positive and say we take it 3-2 in OT.

I don't feel too confident about this game either. The Panthers should be well rested from having six days off, which seems to never bode well coming back after such a long break and the Flyers certainly can't be happy after losing big and letting up 44 shots to the pathetic Lightning last night. The Cats are going to have to come out with a bang to win this one.

I'll be at the game though somewhere. I hope it's a loud and energetic Panthers crowd with all of those Philly fans there. Hopefully our boys give them something us to cheer about

I hate to post this in your guys GDT but I couldn't resist. The Flyers are not a slow team at all. All of our D-core can skate minus Alberts. The forwards are really quick too minus Cote.

I disagreed with his assessment of your team as well. I think maybe he was alluding to the fact that the Flyers played last night and wouldn't have their best legs all game.

I think we have a better chance to beat Philly than to beat Tampa Bay.
We always have more success with better teams and we should be able to win this one...as for Tampa, I don't know.

One point out of a playoff spot = guaranteed loss.

I don't have the warm & fuzzies about this one (either).

Yeah, this is one of those games that show the future path of this team - is it a new team, or still the good old Panthers? Loss.
