Gutless Puke!

Lol, the war of the coaches is on. Can't wait til the rematch.

Edit: TSN changed their title from 'Gutless Puke' to 'Flyers Clarke Sounds Off at Martin'. Weasels.

It's not really a "war of the coaches" when it's a General Manager that has made the comments.

You're right, I forgot about that. Still, it's funny to see that management has developed such a rivalry. Rivalries at all levels are good.

Says gutless puke for me.

Hope these teams play in the playoffs. What a series that'd be.

Bah, they changed it back again... can't make up their minds whether to go for politically correct or bush. TSN does that all the time.

Bit rich coming from Clarke. It's not like he was a complete angel himself. Who cares -- a good change that no one's calling Ottawa soft.

Clarke threatened to call up Berube if Ray is dressed for the April 2nd game, so maybe it will be round two after all.

Was the Somik fight before or after Philly sent out someone specifically to fight Spezza?

btn, the order of events:

Ray vs Brashear

After this is done, Brashear and Pothier have some sort of encounter (to be neutral), starting a line brawl (including the goalies).

After the line brawl is cleaned up, Martin (the road coach), puts Niel and Chara out for the next shift. Hitchcock responds by putting out an entire line consisting of non-fighters, so Niel grabs Somik, and Chara grabs Timmander, and off they go.

Next, as they are sorting out that mess, Hitchcock apears to tell Handzus and Leclair to fight off the faceoff, so Handzus and Fisher go at it, Leclair and someone Hug (no penalties).

Next, play starts for a couple seconds, and Leclair tackles Redden, and that starts the Smoke - Rechi fight.

Off the ensuing faceoff, Spezza and Sharp go at it (Spezza saying that Sharp told him Hitchcock told him to fight).

Basically, the Flyers are anoyed at the Niel and Chara fights, but they really should have had someone out their who could handle Niel and Chara.

Before the Spezza fight. Well before actually.

And who would care about that one?
First, as the Canadian announcing crew said well before Spezza fought, Spezza can fight.
Second, Spezza's bigger then the guy he fought by a good margin.
Third, Spezza initiated the fight between him and Sharp. Which is good for him. I know Spezza said some things about Sharp being out to fight him or whatever.

Redden tackles LeClair btw.. but regardless..

Why should he have put someone out that can handle Neil and Chara?
Should we always match-up players expecting a fight? That would suck, huh? Might as well just not dress any of the smaller skilled players.

The line brawl was over, it was a fair brawl, why expect more?
No one knew what was going to happen except the Sens. Did that come from the bench? Probably. I really doubt Chara and Neil just both decided to fight at the same time. Especially considering who they were paired against.

I've hear all sorts of excuses for it. From Brashear sucked Ray (which is bunk) to Brashear shoved someone else on his way to the bench.

Now, before anyone accuses me of whinning. Shut up
All this means is that April 2nd the Flyers need to get even. If that means Brash beating the crap out of Havlat while Havlat turtles, so be it. If that means Frdige beating the crap out of or boarding Alfredsson real bad, so be it. And don't whine about me saying I wouldn't mind them being boarded. To bad. Last game was fair, I don't care if the Flyers raise the bar even higher. I wouldn't call boarding any worse then Neil attacking Somik and then nailing him in the face after he was down on the ice a few times.

What hypocrisy from Clark. None of the Sens tried to break anybody's ankle.

I lost all my respect for Havlat in that game. If anyone is a "gutless puke", it's him.

As for cheapish stuff, it seemed to go both ways if you ask me. The problem with lashing out like Clake did is that it easily spins out of control and we have people jumping skill-players both ways. I doubt either team wants it.

On the other hand. The most reliable way to ensure nothing will be allowed to happen in the rematch is to talk about how something will happen. Now the league office will threaten everyone involved with hefty suspension for stuff that might happen, so everyone will cool down.

Yeah because, God forbid, we don't want any emotional or exciting hockey games.

He was sitting in the penalty box? Now how is he supposed to fight if he's in there?

Martin made sure that his skilled players were not harmed (Alfie, Bondra etc). Smart move.

Anyway, it's not like Smokes or Spezza are heavyweights.

Clarke's just a big baby.

The biggest problem is that no matter what it will most likely be a horrible game because the refs will call every little thing. I suspect it will be an exercise in PP and PK no matter how hard the teams play.

Clarke does this sort of thing regularly though. Anyone remember when he was whining back in 1998 about how Gary Suter shouldn't have been allowed to play in the Olympics because he took Kariya out? I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I heard that one.

I remember when Sgt. Slaughter called The Ultimate Warrior the ultimate puuuuke. That's back when wrestling was still good.
