Just like they weren't going to trade Boyle. Tampa is a joke of an organization. I wouldn't trust these guys with a penny. They are so full of ****.

I'm not going to guess if there's any truth to the Markov rumour. But, if the Bolts absolutely insist on a #1 offensive dman, I wonder if they could work out a 3 team deal involving Kaberle?

We have no idea how far it really went. We have no idea if Montreal has really done more than kick the tires.

But if the Bolts think they can get a player of Markov's stature for Vinny's 11-year contract they're going to be sorely disappointed, especially if they think they can ask for a 1st pick on top of it.

And BTW, for what it's worth, Renaud Lavoie denied the comment about the Montreal media, saying he called three times to call him and he never returned his calls.

To be fair, it was a different management team that traded Boyle.

I don't understand why people are so surprised. We go through this every few months.

What hype?

With all Vinny has said and his agent too, it was damn sure he was being shopped. Lawton just didn't get what he was hoping for and now has made the mistake of breaking the trust he had from Vinny.

This is not over by a mile. Vinny will be moved before July 1st. Bank on it.

Don't Believe The Hype

Lightning GM Brian Lawton explains that the team is not shopping captain Vincent Lecavalier.
When did any GM come out to say they were shopping their players, unless it's close to deadline and obvious (Hossa)?..
Can you imagine if BG publicly said we're shopping Koivu or Kovalev?..
How can you expect these players to perform after?..

I don't believe the hype because we simply haven't had a french superstar here in more than 10years (Roy), and it's just too good to be true.
If we speculate how much he'd cost us in terms of players, I'm not so sure it's possible too. Don't think Gainey wants to get rid of Plek/Higs/Gorges, as they are young talented players that are cheap and loyal.
If we look at how much cap hit he takes, it means we'd have to shed more salary as well.

So base on those facts, I find it hard to believe we'll get him. Not because their GM said so, that's BS.

Just for ***** and giggles, someone with NHL 09 should try to execute a few of the trade scenarios and see what happens, then simulate the rest of the season

TFP is reporting Markov has to be in the deal from what Tampa wants. Plus Subban and draft picks. http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/mtl090115.html

Didn't they trade boyle right when the new management took over??
I know Richards was moved with the old group but I thought Boyle was with the current group.

Except Feaster's hand was forced by the owners. They were already micromanaging the team and management was really just a puppet.

Well **** me, but when your franchise player comes out and gives an interview like the one he gave yesterday, you know something is up.

My take, ownership decided, in the end and after having reviewed the offers, not to trade him. I don't think he will be traded after that Lawton press conference, that was too much of a door slammed shut.....not til after the season at least.

What a joke of an organization. I have never seen this level of stupidity.

The thing is, Vinny may not be on board anymore. That we'll have to see.
