Encouraging comments about Fischer, Pateryn & Stejskal.

I'm glad for them.

I fully expect McDonagh and Fischer to become regular NHL d-men but if one of Pateryn, Stejskal or Paquet make it to the NHL, it will be a major bonus to the organization and give us amazing depth on the back side. I'm just amazed by the number of good looking d-men we have scattered everywhere in the minors and Europe.

Good read, but some info a little out-dated. Fischer now stands at 6'3" and 203 lbs (not the 180 of his freshman year). If anyone has had the chance to watch him on TV these past few years, you can see he has gotten a good bit bigger and stronger. I imagine he'll put on an additional 10-20 lbs (of muscle) over the next few years.

Thanks for the article.

ps. for those wanting to know more about Fischer's status, it appears he has a torn tendon in his right thigh-- should be back sometime in February.

Fischer sounds like a promising top-4 defenceman now that he's added some strength, while Stejskal is starting to sound a lot like a Sheldon Souray-type of player with that big time shot of his, size and toughness.

Thanks, I remember reading in another thread that he was injured, but didn't know the details.
