Sharks need to prove they are Cup contenders, if we lose, we show to everyone else how un-intimidating we are in a best of 7, because I can guarantee you, right now we wouldn't win a best of 7 against Columbus, Calgary, Edmonton, Minnesota, and especially Detroit.

Sharks need to absoulutely slaughter the Red Wings tonight.
Couple things though in response to your assertion that this is the biggest game of the year and how we have to prove that we are Cup contenders:

Rob Blake? Out.

Brad Lukowich? Out.

Jeremy Roenick? Out.

Torrey Mitchell? Hasn't even played this season.

Derek Joslin? In.

Alexi Semenov? In.

Can we really say this is the biggest game of the year with our injuries? It's not like the squads are facing each other 100% (or even close to) healthy.

The other thing, just like the last DET/SJ game, is that the visiting team is on a road trip with this game being their 3rd game in 4 nights. I believe that was a big factor in the Sharks dud in Detroit earlier this season, and the Red Wings could very well be a dud tonight because they are tired.

That's why I question whether it's the biggest game of the year. I question whether it proves we are cup contenders when one team is banged up hosting another playing its 3rd game in 4 nights.

By the way I think ya'll is talking way too much about those injuries. Yeah Blake would be nice to see out there, but we don't need anybody else in just this ONE game. Nah, not at all. We might win, or lose, but playing without JR, Luko and Mitchell ain't NUTHIN at all. They have been out so much. Blake's missing some action will show on some situations, but we got a STRONG squad of muthas. Like we have shown this season. We rule the NHL, the best team in the league.

But that's true too, this game ain't nuthin. These regular season games ain't dirt u heard. We can lose, we almost wanna lose this one.

No disrespect to Detroit, who's a damn good team, but the Sharks are still for the moment the better one. But everyone poo-poos and ho-hums the Sharks record because "it doesn't mean anything until the playoffs", and yet somehow we're supposed to be amazed that the Red Wings are so good. Either no one's reg. season record means a thing until the playoffs, or respect all teams for what they've accomplished to this point.
Detroit is awesome and they did shake the cup hangover.

The only reason I believe anyone is hesitant is because San Jose has crumbled the past couple years in the playoffs. From the Canadian shows I see that "ho-hum" anything it is to try and keep a even keel about what really counts after your team tied the best start in NHL history and 1000 people were like San Jose lock out of the West??!?!?!?!?!

I'm so glad I get to watch this game though...I try to watch as many San Jose games as possible. Team is a top contender. He who laughs last, laughs best.

It's pretty damn exceptional stuff mane! I might make you all proud someday. But let's talk about that stuff when the time is right, right!!!!!! I'm just so proud of my work already. It is different, put it that way.

My point is about the double standard though. Either treat every top team teh same and respect them all, or disregard every performance and say it doesn't matter until the playoffs. It's all "look at how great Boston is. Look at how great Detroit is. Now look at Calgary, they're doing great too. And San Jose? Well, they'll just choke in the playoffs again..."

I want to say GO SHARKS!!! before I head out to the Stockton Arena. I'm hoping to avoid the outcome of this game, but I'm sure it'll be flashed across the JumboTron or someone in passing will blurt it out. While I watch the Thunder and Steelies I'll be thinking happy thoughts about Team Teal.

Warning for everyone: The boards may be a little unreliable tonight. I just had the craziest experience.........which I just realized I can't detail because it involves modly stuff.

Suffice to say it was crazy and involved calling in a priest.

expect the unexpected tonight.

Well I'll be at the game so if it gets really crazy make a thread so I can read all the gory details. I won't have the time to sift through the whole GDT and I don't wanna miss out

EDIT: Looks like it started already. I have to click on my main Sharks board bookmark to get back to the boards.

I dunno I don't think it was a great quote in itself, but that whole scene was great.

"Wyatt Earp is my friend"

"Hell I've got lots of friends."

"....I don't."

4-3 Sharks

Sharks Goals: Marleau, Boyle, Seto, and Thornton

Wings Goals: Datsuyk, Franzan, and Hossa

It would be awesome if the Sharks win tonight, but I just want a good hard faught game and no blowout.

People are voting at NHL.com, they think Dan Boyle has been the biggest addition and help for the team this year, out of these new comers Hossa, Boyle, Streit etc... Boyle has gotten over 31% of the votes. Hossa has gotten 28%.

We mutha****as know of course, that Rob Blake has been a huge part of this helping duo also. Blake got that fire, he and Boyle both done did their thang. Impact on our rear ends, feeling real good you know what I'm talkin bout. They changing thangs. Good for Boyle. Continue to roll.

Appears that both the Sharks and Wings feeds will be available (free) tonight.
Go to www.atdhe.net.

Most places steal their streams from there anyway, so just go to the source.

that graphic was messed. how could Detroit and SJ have different goal totals and yet be 1st and tied for 1st respectively?
