On top of that, i think richards is getting credited as the "inventor" of the move
Personally, I just find it funny hows he's getting trashed for trying it. If he had scored everyone would be speaking differently about it. Maybe to satisfy everybody he shouldve just taken a shot and missed and stayed ordinary.
i say **** that. Cannon is the man.
Now that other players are trying it what do you guys have to say about THAT? Maybe it wasn't such a "stupid attempt" afterall...
I don't really see any method being different than any other. It looked absurd but I don't think there was inherently a lower chance of him scoring on it than anything else he's done, and that would be my only issue.
At least Richards showed he is willing to try and do anything he can to try and win the game, and win a blasted shootout. I have no problem with it at all. As long as hes uses it once in a blue moon. I mean he almost had vokoun beat lol.
it is good that everyone has such an open mind in this thread. the Stevens doesn't take shootout serious thread was ripping this team apart. I thought the move was different. The way laperriere did it was better though. He sped up soon and really moved his body getting the goalie to follow him not the puck. I bet we see it more though. I think we should look at using different guys on the shootout, like lupul upshall and knuble to start. Sometimes a different look is better than a different move.
People are yelling that "Everyone hear is yelling at Mike for what he did." If anything I maybe see 2-3 people that didnt like it. Other then that everyone else pretty much agrees that it was something new, and it could have easily worked.

and those 4 or 5 posters would be right there to talk about how great a move it was.
