White To Tampa

thefourthperiod.com reports that according to the St. Petersburg Times, the Tampa Bay might be interested in Ian White as their bluline is thin.

White is a very interesting player this year. His ability to be effective at both RW and D makes him a valuable player. I am sure that more than TB is intersted in him.

What does everybody think we could get for white from the TBL?

How has Jokinen been doing? He had a good rookie season but I think his game has been in decline ever since.

Well, it's a goods thing for MTL!

If TB finds their offensive d-man with White, they won't ask for Markov!!! Youhouu!

What would it take to get Tyrell? Or Downie?

Appanently, according to The Fourth Period, the Lightning are looking to trade every person on their team. Including Stamkos (which is the dumbest damn thing ive ever heard).

If we wanted Jokinen we could of picked him up on waivers. White is playing good this season despite some of his mistakes in his own zone. He definitley has a great slapshot, and is a surprising +4 on the team..

You know what's funny about the Tampa blue line being thin is that it's not like they didn't have opportunities to address it. They opted to sign about 70 forwards and then aside from trading for Meszaros, opted to sign washed up hacks like Jamie Heward and Marek Malik.

Jokinen was never on waivers. That was all BS apparently.

LOL...very true...they are as deserving of their present misfortune as are the Leafs...

White isn't any good. If he were on another team in a big market that shall be nameless, he would be viewed as worthless.

i like white's game, although i like em on the wing better than d, he's a wee bit small to play d IMO, but handy guy to have if a defenceman goes down, move him from wing to d. nice pet to have!

White is logging more minutes than Kaberle, Kubina, and Schenn. He has been our biggest suprise this season.

He played almost 30 minutes on Friday I think. I hated White last year. He has been great this season though, he plays with fire every shift.

He is not a superstar but he is the kind of versatile player every team needs. He can bring back a decent return. What kind of draft pick does everyone think he could get?

He's really turned his game around this year, I was never a fan before but he's showing he could become a very valuable player.

Good speed, great shot and plays with a bit of an edge despite his size. He's still not great on D, but he's definitely improved a lot over last year, and is a decent winger.

Im going to assume you meant the last game, because on the season he is a distant 5th in icetime on the defence.

I say Jokinen and a pick because Toronto gets a young forward who desperately needs a change of scenery AND a high round draft pick.

White's been really good, but I don't think the leafs are looking to trade him. He'll be needed if Kubina or Kaberle get dealt, and I think he has the offensive upside to step into their roles.

Sorry I meant the last few games, not the entire season.

It's funny because before this season if anyone had said White would fit into a Burke-style team I would have laughed so hard.

I never thought of white as a good prosprect before this season but he actually had a great offensive career in junior. I think he could really prosper at RW when MVR gets back.

Interesting, where have you heard this? It was widely reported on that Jokinen was on waivers, and I even remember reading quotes from Brian Lawton and Jussi Jokinen confirming this.
